Jacob Fatu Threatens to ‘Burn’ Family Tree Down Ahead of WWE Backlash

The Bloodline feud got even more intense on the May 8 episode of WWE SmackDown as Jacob Fatu delivered one of the most emotional promos of his WWE career before facing Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight title at WWE Backlash 2026.

Just one day before the big match, Fatu made it clear that this fight is about much more than a title. For him, it’s personal. He talked about spending years feeling doubted and overlooked, while Reigns was always treated like the chosen star of the family.

Fatu said Reigns was born into opportunities, while he grew up with people believing he would never become anything. Now that he is close to winning the world title, Fatu feels people suddenly want him to step aside and protect Reigns again.

Things got even more emotional when Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso came out to confront him.

Jacob Fatu warns The Usos about interfering in his Backlash match

The Usos admitted they probably couldn’t change Fatu’s mind before Backlash, but they still wanted to warn him about what could happen if he lost to Roman Reigns.

Jimmy said he understood how important the match was and even admitted part of him wanted to see Fatu succeed. But he also questioned whether the challenger was truly ready for the pressure and consequences of losing on such a huge stage.

Jey then got more serious. After everything he went through with Reigns himself, Jey warned Fatu that Reigns wouldn’t just beat him physically; he would break him emotionally in front of the whole family.

Jimmy then revealed that Fatu’s family would be sitting ringside at Backlash. The Usos warned that if Fatu loses, his wife, kids, and relatives would all have to acknowledge Reigns as their Tribal Chief.

That comment pushed Fatu over the edge.

Fatu fired back at Jey by pointing out that Jey never actually beat Reigns one-on-one. He then told Jimmy that this match is about family pride and survival, not just another championship opportunity. Fatu promised there would be no losing at Backlash because he “can’t lose.”

Just then, Fatu warned Jimmy and Jey that if they tried to interfere in the match, he would “burn this whole goddamn family tree down.” Even after leaving the ring, he kept yelling into the camera, saying nobody ever expected him to reach this point and that he is ready to destroy everything to fulfill his destiny.
