AEW Star Calls Dibs on Winner of Darby Allin Vs. Konosuke Takeshita on Dynamite

Speedball Mike Bailey made it clear on the May 13 episode of AEW Dynamite that he has no intention of staying out of the AEW World Championship picture for long.

Moments after helping fend off interference during a TNT Championship match, Bailey publicly declared that he wants the winner of the night’s AEW World Title main event.

The challenge came after Bailey picked up a quick singles victory over Westbrook before accompanying Kevin Knight during Knight’s TNT Championship defense against Brian Cage.

Knight survived a physically demanding match and retained the TNT Championship with a UFO Splash despite outside distractions involving Lance Archer. Bailey played a direct role in neutralizing Archer during the closing moments, helping Knight avoid disaster and keep the title around his waist.

After the match, Bailey grabbed a microphone and shifted attention toward the AEW World Championship scene.

While congratulating Knight on the victory, Bailey admitted his focus has already moved toward the evening’s world title clash between Darby Allin and Konosuke Takeshita.

Bailey specifically referenced his history with Takeshita, noting that the two were major rivals during their time wrestling in Japan. However, despite their history overseas, Bailey pointed out they have never faced each other in an AEW singles match.

Bailey then made his intentions completely clear by declaring, “I want next,” regardless of who leaves Dynamite holding the AEW World Championship.

The challenge immediately added more intrigue to an already major title match. Allin entered the bout as AEW’s reigning World Champion after recently becoming the company’s first Triple Crown Champion by defeating MJF for the title.

Meanwhile, Takeshita represented the Don Callis Family heading into the championship opportunity.

Whether Bailey ultimately gets the next title shot remains uncertain, but his comments firmly inserted him into AEW’s growing championship conversation. With old rivalries, new opportunities, and multiple contenders circling the main event scene, the race toward the AEW World Championship suddenly looks far more crowded.
