WATCH: Rare Footage of Becky Lynch Wrestling On Canadian Indies Resurfaces

Rare old footage of WWE star Becky Lynch from her early independent wrestling days has recently resurfaced online. The clips show Lynch competing under her original ring name, Rebecca Knox, during her time on the Canadian independent wrestling scene.

The footage dates back to around 2005 and 2006 when Lynch wrestled for Elite Canadian Championship Wrestling (ECCW). One of the resurfaced videos also features a young Lynch competing in match during her independent wrestling run before signing with WWE years later.

The clips give fans a look at Lynch long before she became one of WWE’s biggest stars. At the time, she was still building her reputation internationally while traveling across different countries to continue chasing her wrestling dream.

One resurfaced clip features Rebecca Knox appearing in a Canadian news segment during her time wrestling in Vancouver. The report focused on her journey from Ireland to Canada as she worked to establish herself in professional wrestling.

“I love working, it helps me get the upper hand on my opponent,” Lynch said in the interview. The news report described her as a determined athlete trying to build her name in wrestling around the world. She said, “To make a name for myself because I made a name for myself in the UK and I made a name for myself in Ireland and in France, and now conquer Canada. “

The segment also highlighted the sacrifices Lynch made at a young age to pursue wrestling full-time. She said, “Expect me to kick some ass. Expect to see the best female wrestler in Ireland. I told my dad that I was going over to Vancouver and thought I was going well. I didn’t tell my mom that I was going to go into wrestling. So, I got into a fight with her recently.”

The footage also showed Lynch discussing her interest in Japanese wrestling and how much she respected the style there. She said, “There’s alot because a lot of the time, women’s wrestling is a bit girl. You know, it’s a bit TNA, but over there wrestle like the guys and they kick the crap out of each other and I love it.”

The resurfaced clips provide fans with a rare look at Becky Lynch’s early journey before coming to WWE.
