TKO Group Holdings is continuing preparations for WWE’s upcoming Saudi Arabia event. However, growing tensions involving Iran have reportedly placed the company in a wait-and-see position ahead of a major international stretch.
With Night of Champions approaching in June, WWE officials are closely monitoring the situation before the bell rings in Riyadh.
The company’s leadership addressed the topic publicly while discussing how ongoing geopolitical developments could impact future scheduling. For now, however, the show is still expected to go on.
WWE keeping close watch on the situation of the Saudi Arabia event
TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro spoke about the situation during an appearance on the Power Players With Brian Sozzi podcast. While referencing conflict concerns in the region, Shapiro stressed that WWE currently has only one major event approaching in that area.
“We’re not like F1, we don’t have a lot of events at this time right now that would be impacted,” Shapiro said. “We have an event at the end of June, our next event … as you’d expect, we’re going to monitor the situation.”
He added that if circumstances change, TKO would make adjustments accordingly. “If we have to make a move or to have a schedule change, we will do the right thing by our audience and, more importantly, by global affairs.”
As per reports, WWE leadership — including company president Nick Khan — continues working alongside internal security and government affairs teams to evaluate travel safety and regional conditions. The company reportedly plans to proceed with events as long as the U.S. State Department considers travel safe for American citizens.
WWE’s next Saudi Arabia premium live event, Night of Champions, emanates from June 27, 2026, at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh. The event is part of WWE’s long-running partnership in the region. These also include plans for WrestleMania 43 in Saudi Arabia in 2027.
For now, WWE appears ready to keep marching toward the event — though the company clearly isn’t taking the situation lightly
