Booker T is a big fan of music. So big that he even named one of his children after Kendrick Lamar.
Speaking during a recent episode of Reality of Wrestling, Booker’s children were brought up. The WWE legend and his wife, Sharmell, welcomed twins, Kendrick and Kennedy, into the world in 2010. According to Booker T, his son’s name was inspired in part by Kendrick Lamar, who was just rising to fame at the time.
“When I first listened to Kendrick’s music, it captured me,” Booker T said. “And the name was cool. I was thinking about the names…but Kendrick definitely inspired me to name my son Kendrick, and hopefully my son will have some of those traits to go out and say ‘F the world, I’m going to be great no matter what.’ That’s what it’s all about.”
Booker’s fandom runs deep. At the time of Booker T’s children’s birth, Lamar was only just beginning to rise as an artist. He wouldn’t release his first album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, for another two years.
Booker T and Sharmell inspired NWA star Tiffany Nieves’ wrestling persona
Booker might have taken some inspiration from Lamar, but he’s also been an inspiration for a rising star in the NWA.
New NWA Women’s World Champion Tiffany Nieves recently told WrestleZone that Booker and Sharmell helped inspire her current persona. Nieves credited a feud, which won Reality of Wrestling’s feud of the year honors in 2025, with the WWE Hall of Famers and ROW co-founders resulting in her “T.V.M.A.” gimmick.
“And in fact, during that time, I was really able to focus all that hate I was getting from Queen Sharmell. It actually motivated me. That’s where TV’s Most Attractive, TVMA, was later created. If I notice that I’m not welcome somewhere, I will go elsewhere or take over first, which I did both.”
