Ex-WWE star Carlito claims he was never Triple H’s favorite and that the latter didn’t fully understand his character.
Former WWE Superstar Carlito recently appeared on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast. During the conversation, he addressed his departure from the promotion last year. While he and R-Truth announced their exits at the same time, the company quickly brought the latter back due to massive fan backlash.
When Vliet asked if WWE had any conversation with him about bringing him back after R-Truth, Carlito said. “No, it was no conversation, either way. I never spoke to them, they never spoke to me, just kind of let it run out.”
Speaking further, Vliet pointed out that Carlito was able to do some good things with the Judgment Day in WWE. He noted that he wasn’t sure where he would’ve fit into the show if he were not part of the faction. The former Intercontinental Champion replied that he’s also unsure how that would’ve worked out.
Carlito said WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H never fully understood his character and that he was never his favorite. However, he did whatever he could to make his run with the Judgment Day work, saying it was fun.
“Me neither. Yeah, I don’t know, because I’ve never been Hunter’s favorite. I don’t think he gets Carlito or the character. So it is what it is. But I was gonna make whatever I did work. So Judgment Day came by, and it was fun for me,” the former WWE star said.
Speaking in the same interview, he spoke about a controversial t-shirt he wore during his first WWE run, saying he was surprised Stephanie McMahon approved it.
