Bulgarian singer Dara recently shared her excitement after hearing her song Bangaranga getting mentioned on WWE RAW by Rusev
The moment happened during the May 26 episode of RAW when Rusev confronted Rey Mysterio backstage before their No. 1 Contender’s Match for the Intercontinental Championship. During the exchange, Rusev screamed at Mysterio, saying, “Tonight, I will Bangaranga you.”
Dara Reacts After Rusev References “Bangaranga” On WWE RAW
It was a nod to Dara’s hit song that won the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest for Bulgaria.
The reference finally caught her attention. She recently posted an Instagram Reel celebrating the moment and revealed that she has been a huge WWE fan since childhood.
Dara captioned her post, “I AM LIVING IN MY OWN DREAMLAND,” while tagging WWE and fellow Bulgarian star Rusev.
In the clip, she explained how much WWE meant to her growing up.
“Today a friend of mine sent me a video that…I just need to show you this is insane…(shows the video of Rusev saying Bangaranga)…Guys, ever since me and my brother, we were five and seven, we’re huge fans of WWE. I’m talking waking up at 12 o’clock midnight to watch WWE when I was five. I have dreamt of being on that stage. I was in love with all of the fighters. I have of course, my favorites,” Dara said.
She then talked about what it meant to hear Bangaranga mentioned on WWE TV.
“Bangaranga being a part of WWE somehow, for me and for my younger self, it’s such a dream come true. This is amazing. Rusev…Thank you so much for mentioning Bangaranga because this is actually the whole energy that it contains. The moment you choose to not give up. This is Bangaranga and you all in WWE got that energy. Thank you so much for shaping me into this warrior I am today,” Dara added.
Although Dara is celebrating, Rusev’s night didn’t end the way he hoped.
The segment started with Rey Mysterio and Penta discussing a future Intercontinental Championship opportunity. Later, Adam Pearce was about to make it official when Ethan Page interrupted to complain about not getting opportunities. Rusev then joined the conversation, leading Pearce to book a No. 1 Contender’s Match between Rusev and Mysterio.
Rusev looked strong throughout the match. However, at the end, Mysterio rolled Rusev up with a quick pin to score the victory and earn a future Intercontinental Championship match.
An angry Rusev attacked Mysterio after the bell, but Dragon Lee ran to the ring and made the save.
