AEW is continuing to support Rebel’s battle with ALS. The company has launched a special merchandise collection for the AEW star, with all proceeds going toward organizations that help people affected by the condition.
Rebel announced in April that she had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Since sharing the news, she has received support from fans, wrestlers, and people across the wrestling world.
Now, AEW is helping to turn that support into something bigger.
AEW unveils ‘Rebel Heart’ merchandise line to raise funds for ALS
AEW recently introduced a new merchandise collection called “Rebel Heart.” The collection features a special T-shirt and bracelet created in Rebel’s honor while also raising awareness about ALS. The company confirmed that all of the profits from these items will be donated to organizations that support ALS patients and fund research.
“Join us in supporting a cause close to our hearts: #RebelHeart tee and bracelet – both available now on @ShopAEW in honor of @RebelTanea and #LouGehrigDay.
100% of profits go to @iamalsorg and @TeamGleason, benefiting those affected by ALS. @AEWTogether,” AEW wrote on X.
ALS is a progressive disease that affects the body’s ability to control muscles. As the disease advances, people can experience muscle weakness, paralysis, and breathing problems. While treatments can help manage symptoms, there is currently no cure.
Most people diagnosed with ALS live between two and four years after diagnosis, although some live much longer. Around 10 percent of patients survive for more than ten years.
AEW President Tony Khan also spoke about Rebel’s diagnosis during the Double or Nothing press conference earlier this year. He said AEW wants to support her however it can and will continue looking for ways to help raise awareness and funds for ALS research.
Khan has also revealed that AEW is considering dedicating a future Fight for the Fallen event to Rebel and an ALS-related charity. While nothing has been officially announced yet, the show has often been used to support important causes.
