WWE star Rhea Ripley may be known for her fierce personality in the ring, but her idea of a perfect date night with husband Buddy Matthews is actually pretty simple.
During a recent appearance on What’s Your Story? With Stephanie McMahon, Ripley shared what her favorite date night looks like. Instead of fancy trips or expensive outings, she prefers good food and a place that reminds her of home.

When McMahon asked about her favorite date night, Ripley quickly mentioned a dumpling restaurant that she and Matthews love to visit. Even though it’s a bit far from their home, she says the drive is absolutely worth it.
“I love dumplings,” Ripley said. “So, like we go out…There is this dumpling place about 25–30 minutes away from where we live. It’s so worth it.”
The WWE Women’s Champion joked that she always ends up in a food coma afterward but keeps going back because the food is that good. While Ripley loves the dumplings, she revealed that the restaurant’s fried rice is the real reason she keeps returning.
The Australian-born star explained that she had a hard time finding fried rice in the United States that tasted like the version she grew up eating in Australia. After a long search, she finally found something similar at this restaurant.
“And I feel so sick afterwards. They have the best, like, fried rice there. In Australia, the fried rice that we have, it’s got like egg, shrimp, corn… like everything in it. And I’ve been struggling to find that in America. And this one dumpling place does it,” Ripley said.
Moreover, the restaurant isn’t just a favorite for date nights. Ripley also enjoys taking family members there whenever they visit.
“We’ll bring the family there when they come over. So, like my parents are down at the moment, and they’re gonna come over for a week after the Mania. It’s nice. So, I’m gonna have to take them there because I need them to try this fried rice. I need them to try these dumplings,” Ripley added.
