New Update Emerges on Sheamus Amid WWE Injury Absence

WWE fans may finally have a reason to feel hopeful about Sheamus‘ return. The former world champion has been out of action since November 2025, but a recent injury update hints that he could be getting closer to an in-ring comeback.

Sheamus last competed on an episode of RAW from Madison Square Garden, where he teamed with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat Finn Bálor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh. It was Cena’s final RAW appearance before retirement.

Just days later, WWE announced that Sheamus was not medically cleared due to a shoulder injury. As a result, he had to pull out of the “Last Time Is Now” tournament, which was meant to determine Cena’s final WWE opponent.

Six months later, Sheamus is still away from WWE TV. Nevertheless, his latest update suggests things may finally be moving in the right direction.

Sheamus shares encouraging recovery update

The Celtic Warrior recently shared photos on Instagram from inside the WWE Performance Center. The pictures showed him back inside a WWE ring with his fellow training partners. In one of the pictures, Sheamus showed off the scars on his back that wrestlers usually get when they do intense rope runs.

He captioned the post, “a fun day.”

Sheamus also looks to be in good shape despite being away from WWE for months. The 48-year-old appears to have maintained the same physical condition that has defined much of his career.

While he didn’t reveal any further details, it is a sign that Sheamus is making progress in his recovery and could be nearing the final stages of rehab.

Sheamus underwent shoulder surgery in December 2025. At the time, many expected him to return before WrestleMania 42, but that comeback never happened.

Sheamus has dealt with several injury setbacks in recent years, including another shoulder issue that kept him out for much of 2023. He returned in 2024, took another break, and then suffered the injury that has sidelined him since late 2025.
