WWE‘s Cathy Kelley reveals a pretty detail-oriented piece of advice Paul Heyman gave her.
Speaking on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast, WWE backstage interviewer Cathy Kelley was asked about the biggest lessons she learned from Hall of Famer Paul Heyman. While there are so many she can recall, Kelley remembered a moment when Heyman asked her to get rid of her bangs/fringe haircut, saying that combining it with glasses hid her eyes and prevented the camera from capturing her facial expressions.
“There are so many lessons I don’t even know where to start. This isn’t the best thing that I’ve learned from him, but when I was wearing glasses and I had cut my bangs, he’s like, ‘You have to get rid of that, because we can’t see your eyes, and your eyes are where you tell your emotion.’ So there’s just a lot of little things that I think he helps so many people backstage, but I picked up from him,” Cathy Kelley said.
When Vliet asked her what she had fine-tuned in her work over the years in WWE, Cathy Kelley revealed that it was her confidence.
“Probably just confidence. I think that over time you get more comfortable I think my work is always going to be better if it’s someone that I’m friends with. But yeah, I think it’s confidence.”
While she continues her current role as a backstage interviewer in WWE, recent reports indicated that Cathy Kelley is also training at the company’s Performance Center for an expanded on-screen role.
