Fraxiom (Nathan Frazer and Axiom) vs. Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar

Axiom and Dar trade pin attempts, with neither man able to get the advantage. Axiom floors Dar with a clothesline leading to a stalemate. Moreno and Frazer tag in. Both men take turns flipping to avoid the other’s offense. After all four men trade dives and strikes, Frazer springboards into a spinning back elbow from Dar. Dar manages to tag in Moreno, who clears the ring.

Frazer breaks up an armbar from Moreno with a frog splash. Axiom and Frazer land a flurry of dives. After a series of near falls, Moreno springboards into double superkicks from Axiom and Frazer out on the floor. Axiom lands a Spanish fly off the top. Golden Ratio by Axiom. Frazer follows that with a Phoenix splash for the win.

Winners- Faxiom

Grade: C+

Fun, fast-paced match that had little heat and even less selling. If you take the good with the bad, this one sits in the middle of the road. You can have lightning-fast action with selling and psychology.

Mr. NXT Pageant featuring Tristan Angels vs. Shiloh Hill

The Mr. NXT Pageant begins and will be happening via segments throughout the night. The catagories will be: attire, talent, and public speaking. The fans will choose the winner. Angels wins the judge vote. No word on the fan vote as of yet.

Grade: Zero… Point… Zero

How do you even measure something as stupid as this?

NXT Championship #1 Championship Match | Mason Rook vs. Naraku

Naraku boots Rook in the gut. Rook runs over Naraku with a shoulder block. After a whip in the corner, Rook crushes Naraku in the corner. Senton by Rook. Naraku surprises Rook with a bodyslam. Rook rolls out. After the break, Rook destroys Naraku with a powerslam off the top. Naraku somehow kicks out. Naraku lands a Samoan bomb for a near fall.

After leveling Rook with a lariat, Naraku lands a fisherman’s buster. Kick out at two. Rooks sets up a backpack stunner. Naraku counters with a sleeper. Rook reverses it into a running DVD into the corner. Rook sets up his finish. Kam Hendrix runs to ringside and distracts Rook. Rook walks into Everything is Evil by Naraku for the win.

Winner- Naraku

Grade: B-

Solid match. Much has been made of Rook’s physical appearance, but that’s not the story here. Rook is talented in the ring, and that is what matters most. Having him in this position this early is certainly a choice, but at least Naraku went over here. Give Rook time to come into his own and work on what the final version of him will be.

NXT Women’s Championship #1 Contenders Match | Kendal Grey vs. Kelani Jordan

Jordan tries to jump Grey before the bell rings. Grey avoids it and the two trade takedowns and flip dodges. Jordan lands a basement splash followed by a basement dropkick. Back elbow by Jordan. Jordan works over Grey. The fight spills out of the ring, and Jordan blasts Grey with a neckbreaker out on the floor.

After the break, Grey and Jordan take each other out with a double clothesline. Backstage, NXT Women’s Champion Lola Vice is watching from a monitor. Grey dives off the top into a superkick from Jordan. Jordan lands a slingshot stunner. Frog splash by Jordan! Grey kicks out. Grey counters a neckbreaker into Shades of Grey for the win.

Winner- Kendall Grey

Grade: B

Good match, but not as good as the last time these two locked up. Vice defending against Grey will be good, but this writer is worried they will pull the trigger on Grey a bit too fast. Vice should have a long reign before eventually moving up. The push to crown Grey ASAP won’t do her any favors.

Jasper Troy vs. Dion Lennox w/Osirus

Troy is in control early. Lennox takes over after a cheap shot. Saquan Shugars appears on the ‘Tron and tells Lennox to watch his back. Troy dumps Lennox over the top while he’s distracted. After the break, Lennox is working over Troy. Troy kips up to his feet and unloads on Lennox. Troy misses a Vader Bomb after a distraction from Osirus. Lennox hits a powerslam for the win.

Winner- Dion Lennox

After the match, Shugars appears on the ‘Tron to tell Lennox no one is safe. The ‘Tron glitches, and it’s obviously a recording. Shugars hops the barricade and hits Osirus with a pipe.

Grade: C-

Odd finish for this one. Lennox just beat Troy. Troy has fallen pretty far since debuting and running through people. Even with that, Troy never won a match other than the bit with the Speed title. More odd booking in NXT.

Mr. NXT Pageant featuring Tristan Angels vs. Shiloh Hill

In the finale, Hill wins the judge and fan vote. Angels attacks him after the fact.

Grade: Three Popcorn Farts

NXT Women’s North American Championship Match | Tatum Paxley (c) vs. Zaria

Zaria Spears Paxley as soon as the bell rings. Paxley kicks out and rolls out of the ring. Zaria follows and tosses Paxley into the barricade. Paxley kicks out of Paxley’s pin. A pair of tossing suplexes by Zaria. German suplex by Zaria. Paxley avoids a corner Spear by Zaria. Zaria eats the post. Paxley double stomps Zaria into the ring steps. Asai moonsault by Paxley. Zaria rises up like a horror movie monster. After the break, Paxley fires up. Paxley lands on her feet after a German suplex from Zaria.

Zaria charges in for a Spear, but Paxley counters with a mushroom stomp! Kick out by Zaria. Zaria avoids a 450 splash from Paxley. Spear by Zaria! Paxley kicks out! Zaria and Paxley trade shots. Superkick by Paxley. Paxley goes up top, Zaria cuts Paxley off. Paxley knocks Zaria into a tree of woe. As Zaria hangs, Paxley lands a coast-to-coast dropkick! Zaria somehow kicks out at 2.9. After a series of counters, Zaria no-sells a Koppo Kick. Paxley misses a dive. Zaria F5s Paxley out on the floor. After sending Paxley into the ring, Zaria Spears her out of her boots. F5 by Zaria. Zaria pins Paxley.

Winner and NEW NXT North American Champion, Zaria!

Grade: B

This match was more than solid. Paxley has the NXT Universes’ heart, so watching her get utterly destroyed tonight goes a long way in resetting Zaria as the badass she was supposed to be when she signed.

This event starts at 8 PM EST. This information will be updated as the event progresses.
