Aalyah Mysterio may be one step closer to a WWE career.
The daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio stepped into the WWE Performance Center last September to do some basic in-ring drills while Rey prepared to make his in-ring comeback on WWE TV. Six months later, Aalyah returned to the PC, this time for more extensive training sessions that spanned two weeks.
According to Rey, this, coupled with Aalyah’s growing passion for wrestling, has now led her to pursue an official career start at the WWE Performance Center.
“Just recent news, we’ve been going back-and-forth trying to see if Aalyah was motivated enough to go up to the PC and dedicate some time to training, like full-time,” Rey said on Six Feet Under. “She tried it out one time with me last year October, she loved it, she just jumped in the ring once. I said ‘Ok, lets try and set you up to go up there for about two weeks, see if you can wake up every day and do this Monday through Friday, weekends off and then back again Monday through Friday. She did two weeks and she really loved it.”
“I said ‘Ok, I wasn’t expecting that.’ And this was all prior to WrestleMania, the first one we had in Vegas, ‘Dad, when you taking me to the ring?’ ‘When you taking me to the ring?’ ‘When you graduate, I’ll take you to the ring.’ So, she graduated in July of last year… Showed me her diploma, goes ‘Ok, I’m ready.’ Took her up in October of last year, she loved it, sent her again this year, February for two weeks, she loved it, and now we are in May, end of May and she’s getting ready to go up there and establish herself at the PC.” (H/T WrestleTalk)
Aalyah has appeared on WWE television on a number of occasions, some of which involved a romantic storyline with former WWE star Buddy Matthews in 2020. Aalyah’s brother Dominik currently reigns as the AAA Mega Champion and remains in the race to become the 2026 King of the Ring.
