Major Charlotte Flair Match Pitched For WWE SummerSlam 2026 — Report

A potentially blockbuster addition to WWE SummerSlam 2026 has reportedly been discussed behind the scenes. While Charlotte Flair recently made it clear that she has her sights set on the WWE Women’s Championship, a new report suggests WWE may have another major direction in mind for “The Queen.”

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE has internally pitched a singles match between Charlotte Flair and Jade Cargill for SummerSlam.

The report adds that the bout was even penciled in for the event at one stage, though creative plans remain subject to change.

Charlotte Flair Vs. Jade Cargill reportedly viewed as ideal SummerSlam match

The reported matchup would mark the first-ever singles encounter between Flair and Cargill, two of WWE’s most prominent stars. Despite sharing the ring on several occasions, they have yet to meet one-on-one.

The seeds for a future showdown have been planted for quite some time. Their first notable interaction came in October 2023 shortly after Cargill joined WWE, when Flair suggested the two would eventually cross paths inside a WWE ring.

More recently, tensions escalated following WWE Clash in Italy on May 31. During Jade Cargill’s WWE Women’s Championship match against Rhea Ripley, Flair unexpectedly intervened by taking out B-Fab and Michin, helping Ripley retain her title. The situation quickly boiled over backstage when Cargill later attacked Flair.

According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, WWE officials currently view SummerSlam as the ideal stage for the long-discussed match to finally happen. The timing would make sense, as both competitors remain heavily featured on SmackDown and have continued crossing paths in recent months.

Interestingly, the report comes after Flair publicly stated her intention to challenge Ripley for the WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam. Whether those plans change remains to be seen.

For now, nothing has been officially announced. Still, if WWE decides to move forward with the matchup, fans could soon witness a first-time collision between two powerhouse stars.
