WWE confirmed that Rhea Ripley is being evaluated after suffering a knee injury.
During Friday’s episode of WWE SmackDown, Wade Barrett confirmed that Ripley had suffered a knee injury while in Italy and was being looked at for it. It’s unclear what the evaluation will show as of yet.
Currently, little is known about the injury, so we’ll likely know more about it and a potential return to action in the coming days or weeks. Ripley defended her WWE Women’s Championship against Jade Cargill at WWE’s Clash in Italy. During the match, Ripley won and retained her title, and didn’t seem to be too hampered by anything.
Rhea Ripley continued to perform during WWE’s European Tour. However, fans noticed that she wore a bandage on her leg for some of them. It’s unclear if the injury happened inside or out of the ring, though.
As of now, Ripley hasn’t handed over her championship. This could signify that her injury isn’t as bad as some might presume. Nevertheless, we’ll have to wait for WWE’s evaluation to come to light before saying anything decisive.
