Before WWE WrestleMania 42, Liv Morgan surprised everyone with the music video for her new song “Trouble.” She then performed it with background dancers during her entrance at the PLE. But before debuting her new entrance theme, Morgan actually went through a full “pop star boot camp” to prepare for it all.
The song and music video became one of the most talked-about parts of WrestleMania season. Featuring Morgan’s own vocals, Trouble showed a completely different side of the Women’s World Champion. But according to Morgan, stepping into the role of a pop star didn’t come naturally.
Liv Morgan went through a three-day ‘pop star boot camp’ ahead of WrestleMania 42
Speaking on The Early Bird Special, Morgan revealed that she spent three days in an intensive training program designed to prepare her for both the music video shoot and her live WrestleMania performance.
“I went through like a three-day intensive pop star boot camp to prepare for this music video shoot and to prepare for my live entrance of it. It was very iconic,” Morgan said.
The training involved much more than learning choreography.
Morgan explained that she spent hours rehearsing dance routines every day. She also practiced everything that usually goes into preparing for a live musical performance.
“Just choreography for hours a day, every single day. Rehearsals, wardrobe sittings, the microphone sitting, how to work with the microphone. Tons of the things that I feel like typical someone would do getting ready for a live performance, you know,” she said.
For Morgan, the entire experience felt surreal.
“It just felt very pop star. I felt like Britney Spears; it was iconic to live through. Never thought I would do anything like that, but I’m very much in a season and space of just doing things, you know? Just trying things,” Morgan said.
WWE leaned into that side of her character during the WrestleMania build. Working with WWE’s longtime music partners, def rebel, Morgan had the chance to bring her personality through both the song and its music video.
