An earthquake briefly halted a Pro Wrestling NOAH event.
Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Neo Global Tag League event took place at Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The show featured an eight-man tag team match in which BUSHI, Tetsuya Naito, Kaito Kiyomiya, and KENTA defeated Masa Kitamiya, Takashi Sugiura, HAYATA, and Tetsuya Endo.
An earthquake occurred during the match, halting the action for a while. Commentators described it as a “fairly sizable one,” and everyone in the arena received emergency alerts on their phones.
“We’re experiencing an earthquake here in Tokyo, and it’s a fairly sizable one,” one commentator said. “Yeah, we are shaking on the fifth floor here. Notifications on everyone’s phone. We’re just gonna pause for a moment.”
Pro Wrestling NOAH continued the show after a brief pause, and two more matches took place, including the main event, which featured Manabu Soya and Yuki Iino defeating The Good Brothers in the 2026 Neo Global Tag League final.
The earthquake struck at 7:46 PM local time in the southern Ibaraki prefecture, northeast of Tokyo. The quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.5, but there was no danger of a Tsunami. It didn’t cause any major damage or injuries. However, Japanese media outlets reported that bullet trains had to be temporarily halted for safety checks.
