WWE is reportedly facing significant visa issues.
According to F4WOnline‘s Bryan Alvarez, WWE is facing “significant visa issues” right now. While there’s no word on what that means, he noted that promotions across the United States have faced visa issues over the past few years, resulting in talent staying on the sidelines for a considerable period.
AEW stars The Beast Mortos and Komander are currently unable to perform in the United States due to visa issues, creating a problem as Mortos and Sammy Guevara are the reigning ROH World Tag Team Champions. While announcing Mortos’ absence, Tony Khan noted that the championship will likely be defended in Mexico, which came to fruition this past Friday at a CMLL event, where he and Guevara successfully defended the title against Los Villanos.
World Wonder Ring Stardom had to make changes to their WWE WrestleMania 42 weekend event card due to what they described as an “unusually long visa process.” Maki Itoh, Yuria Hime, and Fuwa-chan were unable to travel to the United States as a result.
Reports back in March also indicated that WWE is looking to sign more AAA talent to contracts and secure the necessary visas to allow them to compete in the United States. It’s unclear how these visa issues will affect the promotion’s upcoming international events, including the upcoming Night of Champions event in Saudi Arabia. It’s also worth noting that the company is looking to hire an Immigration Legal Counsel to ensure that all international employees across the TKO businesses and wrestling talent have the legal right to work in the Americas (primarily the US).
