Blake Monroe was born in the United Kingdom, but says she much prefers being stateside now.
While on Tiffany Stratton’s Twitch stream, Monroe joked about how she is much happier to be in the United States than the U.K. The star, who was born in London and grew up overseas, made her way to America in 2023, where she initially wrestled with AEW under the name Mariah May. Now, she’s a member of the WWE roster.
Monroe says that, as much as people might say she misses the U.K., she’s actually enjoyed living in the U.S. much more.
“Do I want to go back to England? Why? Have you been to England? You’ve been on vacations, we call them a holiday, you know if you actually live there you would get depression,” Monroe quipped.
Stratton played along and asked why, so Monroe continued the banter and described some of the more physical effects the country has had on her.
“It rains [in the U.K.]. It’s gray, you will get acne. The water is different…there’s no sunshine. I moved to America and my skin got better,” Monroe said. “Yeah, I moved here and I got better looking. Like if we put it on a scale, I gained a point and a half. I wasn’t bad looking before, but I glowed up.”
Monroe also joked that, since arriving in America, she has also gotten “paid better,” allowing her to afford better skincare. Monroe’s comments appear to be in jest, but it was still a pretty funny exchange about the “benefits” of moving across the pond.
