WWE Legend Bully Ray Accused Of Backpedaling Amid Josh Barnett Feud

Fans are accusing WWE legend Bully Ray of backtracking after he responded to Josh Barnett’s challenge.

Bully Ray recently made headlines after criticizing The Death Riders’ creative direction in AEW, calling its leader, Jon Moxley, a fraud, and claiming he can “beat the living s**t out of him.” He received a lot of heat from fans for the comments, and former UFC Heavyweight Champion and one of Moxley’s close friends, Josh Barnett, stepped in to defend the reigning AEW Continental Champion.

Josh Barnett challenged Bully Ray to a fight, offering to give him a legendary a** kicking, and PRODUCE Wrestling, which has a partnership with myAEW, offered to host a charity boxing match between the WWE Hall of Famer and either Barnett or Moxley. While he initially had a dismissive response to the challenge, Ray followed up by directly responding to the former UFC Heavyweight Champion.

Bully Ray responded to Josh Barnett’s challenge by using pro wrestling terms, offering to “put him over,” get him “over” with the fans, and help him “draw money,” prompting fans to accuse the WWE Hall of Famer of backpedaling from his tough talk into kayfabe to avoid a real confrontation.

“Josh, I too can handle myself fine, fight my battles. If ya ever had the itch to feel what it’s like to be over so thoroughly that you can draw money, I can help you with that. Not only can I put you over but get you over in a way that would make ya a*s legendary. For you anytime,” Ray wrote.

Fans were quick to call out Bully Ray

“Oh, so now it’s about getting someone over??? Not actually beating the sh*t out of anyone. You got some agile feet for a big guy though. Impressive backpedal,” one fan replied.

“Bully got punked so bad by Barnett that now all of a sudden he wants to talk in wrestling lingo again. He’s running scared,” another wrote.

“Don’t trip while you backpedal that fast,” another commented on Bully Ray’s post.

“You just backed down faster than Bonnie Blue. She puts guys over too,” another fan wrote.
