AEW Forbidden Door Results

It’s Sunday, and the Forbidden Door main show is coming to you live from the SAP Center in San Jose, California.

The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) vs. El Sky Team (Místico and Máscara Dorada) vs. Unbound Co. (Shingo Takagi and Titán)

The founding fathers make their entrance in the opening contest of AEW Forbidden Door.

Next up are Unbound Co’s Shingo Takagi and Titán.

What an ovation for Místico as he enters the fray alongside Máscara Dorada.

The Young Bucks are firing on all cylinders in the opening moments of this three-way match.

Unbound Co. with the momentum!

Dorada executes a shooting star press after nearly botching a hurricanrana earlier in the match.

Shingo Takagi is not human!

  • Titán goes for a dive but is caught by Matt Jackson and Dorada, who throws the carcass onto the Bucks, only to eat a superkick from Nick Jackson. Nick then heads to the outside and hits Takagi with a running knee before delivering a Meltzer Driver to Titán for the win.

Winners: Young Bucks

Grade: B+

A really fun match to fire up the crowd. All three teams brought their signature styles to the ring. Dorada looked a bit off, especially after the nearly botched hurricanrana, but his teammates made up for his brief lapse. The Bucks pick up the win as we move on to the next crossover match on the card.

Kenny Omega vs. Zack Sabre Jr.

The technical wizard, Zack Sabre Jr., makes his entrance at AEW Forbidden Door.

The Best Bout Machine has arrived.

ZSJ gains the upper hand with his innovative limb work.

Omega retaliates with some stiff offense of his own.

Never poke the bear, Kenny!

Omega transitions brilliantly into an armbar but can’t fully lock it in.

Zack Sabre Jr. may have evaded the Avalanche One-Winged Angel, but at what cost?

Yikes!

  • Omega fires back with a flurry of offense, setting up Zack for a One-Winged Angel, but ZSJ reverses it into another triangle chokehold. Omega eventually breaks free and plants Zack with a V-Trigger before finally putting him away with the One-Winged Angel.

Winner: Kenny Omega

Grade: A+

What a match. What a fight.

Zack Sabre Jr. delivers every time he steps into an AEW ring, and this was no exception. The way Kenny adapted to ZSJ’s submission-heavy style, even dipping into limb work himself, added a fresh layer to the usual pace of a Kenny Omega match.

The build to the finish was especially strong, with ZSJ constantly finding ways to escape the One-Winged Angel, including that last-second reversal that had the crowd thinking he might have stolen it. But Omega’s resilience told the story in the end—breaking free, snapping off the V-Trigger, and finally connecting with the One-Winged Angel for the win.

A brilliantly structured bout and a serious Match of the Year contender for sure.

Jon Moxley vs. Bandido Hype Package

Jon Moxley puts his AEW Continental Championship on the line against Bandido in our third match of the AEW Forbidden Door main show.

Jon Moxley (c) vs. Bandido – AEW Continental Championship

The challenger, Bandido, makes his entrance at AEW Forbidden Door.

Renee Paquette delivers her ringside report ahead of the match as Jon Moxley makes his entrance.

Bandido takes the aim!

Lucha Mox…

That looked like it hurt.

Jon Moxley shows his vicious side, spiking Bandido with a piledriver onto the ringside steel steps.

Mox gets a taste of Bandido’s blood after biting into the laceration.

The challenger won’t stay down!

Running powerbomb by the ROH World Champion!

Bandido shows off his incredible strength with a one-arm overhead press slam on the champion.

The Death Rider is ready to strike!

Bandido pulls a page out of Mox’s playbook.

You’ve got to be kidding me!

  • Bandido sets up Mox for the 21 Plex but slips on the ropes, allowing Mox to catch him in a bulldog chokehold. Mox doesn’t let go of the hold even after Bandido hits a backdrop on the champion. The finish sees Bandido pass out to the chokehold as referee Aubrey Edwards calls for the bell.

Winner and still AEW Continental Champion: Jon Moxley

Brody King is at ringside to check on his tag team partner. Moxley helps Bandido back to his feet, places the title between them, and shows respect to the ROH World Champion with a handshake.

Grade: B+

A valiant effort from Bandido. That fallaway slam from the top rope was something else. Bandido is insanely strong.

As for Moxley, he pulled out some dirty tactics, including trying to expose Bandido’s face, but the man never fails to deliver when the stakes are high.

Shota Umino vs. PAC Video Package

Our next match sees NJPW’s Shota Umino putting his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship on the line against PAC.

Check out the promo package below:

Shota Umino (c) vs. PAC – IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship

The Shooter kicks down the Forbidden Door to take on the Bastard.

PAC takes control in the early goings, using his brute strength to keep Shota Umino on the back foot.

The champion strikes back!

Shota Umino isn’t letting the momentum slip away as he slams PAC face-first into the apron.

Down goes the Bastard!

Shota, get the table!

PAC delivers a thunderous belly-to-belly suplex on Umino from the top rope.

PAC strings together back-to-back suplexes on Umino before sending him crashing through a table with a Razor’s Edge.

A massive headbutt from the champion levels the challenger.
