TNA Wrestling Sources Deny Company Is Up for Sale Amid Rumors

TNA Wrestling isn’t for sale.

In the past week, there have been unverified reports that claimed TNA Wrestling was up for sale. According to these talks, it was suggested that Anthem Sports & Entertainment, TNA Wrestling’s parent company, was seeking $30-$50 million for the promotion.

According to an update from PWInsider.com‘s Mike Johnson, TNA and Anthem sources denied that TNA is up for sale. It was also noted that not only is Anthem not looking to sell, but sources said the rumored price tag was “‘undervaluing’ TNA as it currently exists.”

TNA and Anthem sources also denied a report that WWE holds a right of first refusal option to match any offers for the company. It was noted that the timing of these stories appears to be an attempt to hurt TNA ahead of its Slammiversary pay-per-view. Additionally, the original “reports” were referred to as: “a social media account with no track record or real following [throwing] out grandiose statements and everyone parroted it for no reason other than to grab attention for themselves.”

This source mentioned Anthem turning down Scott D’Amore’s offer to buy the company as a sign that TNA is not up for sale.

Tony Khan addresses the TNA sale rumors

During Thursday’s AEW Forbidden Door media call, Tony Khan was asked if he would consider buying TNA Wrestling. Khan entertained the question, asking Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston to pitch him a hypothetical price. Thurston said $40 million, seemingly referencing the rumored sales figure.

Khan praised the company, noting that TNA does have plenty of assets and value. However, Khan said that it’s not something that he’s actively considering, although he might at the right price.
