Janel Grant has issued a new public statement about WWE’s 2022 internal investigation into allegations involving Vince McMahon. She alleged that explicit material involving her was presented to the company’s board without her knowledge or consent.
The remarks add another chapter to an ongoing legal case that continues to draw attention across the wrestling industry.
Grant shared the statement on Instagram. She reflected on her understanding of the investigation and what she says she later discovered through public court documents.
Janel Grant details allegations about WWE board investigation
According to Grant, she believed she was cooperating with WWE’s publicly announced investigation in good faith. She said she spent “six figures on retainers and medical care,” hired a legal team, and spent months preparing, only for the investigation to conclude “without speaking to me.”
Grant then claimed she later learned that explicit material involving her had made its way to a special committee during the investigation without her knowledge or consent.
“Without my knowledge and without my consent, explicitly graphic evidence was produced to a special committee as part of this investigation,” Grant wrote. She alleged the material included “very graphic language and photos.” Moreover, she revealed it was “viewed, distilled into graphic summaries, and read out to then current members of the Board of Directors.”
Grant also questioned how the material was handled, asking, “Who saw this evidence? Who got read outs? Where are copies of these images and read outs saved?”
She said she decided to speak publicly because she does not want “anything remotely like this to happen to anyone else,” adding, “Safety matters. Dignity matters. How we treat each other matters.”
The allegations stem from the broader legal dispute involving Grant. Janel Grant filed a lawsuit in January 2024 against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis, alleging sexual assault and sex trafficking. McMahon has denied wrongdoing. Laurinaitis has since been dropped from the lawsuit, while the legal proceedings involving Grant, McMahon, and WWE remain ongoing.
