Netflix Censors Blood On WWE RAW Replay Again — Report

Netflix has reportedly censored blood from the WWE replays once again.

According to PWInsider, Netflix added a glitching effect to the backstage segment from last week’s episode of WWE RAW in Chicago, where GUNTHER attacked Cody Rhodes. This effect was reportedly added to mask the fact that Rhodes was bleeding after the Ring General’s attack.

GUNTHER’s attack caused Cody Rhodes to miss his scheduled Undisputed WWE Championship match against Sami Zayn. He was then replaced by a returning CM Punk, who went on to defeat Zayn to become the new champion in the main event.

This isn’t the first time Netflix has censored blood on WWE shows

Netflix previously censored blood in the WWE Night of Champions replay when they blurred Bron Breakker’s face after he got busted open during his steel cage match against Seth Rollins. It led fans to question the platform’s logic, since it streams several movies and TV shows with graphic violence and mature content.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider later provided an update on the situation, saying the edits to the Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins match on the Netflix replay were made by WWE itself. In addition to blurring Breakker’s face, the promotion also reportedly replaced the camera angles used during the live broadcast with alternate angles to hide him.

Mike Johnson also pointed out that WWE even cut to the crowd for a few seconds at one point instead of showing the action after Bron Breakker started bleeding. The company also replaced the “Holy sh**” chant from the crowd during the match with a “This is awesome” chant. Johnson notes that this has become a common practice for WWE replays on Netflix.
