Hello, indies — former WWE star Val Venis is coming out of retirement.
On Thursday night, Independent Stars of Pro Wrestling (ISPW) will host Legends Of Wrestling Night from the Wildwoods Convention Center in Wildwood, New Jersey, with a card mixed with wrestling veterans and rising stars.
Among the names representing the legends is former WWE Intercontinental Champion Val Venis, who considered himself retired from in-ring competition. At ISPW, he will return to action to face Rico Gold, a former ISPW Light Heavyweight Champion.
Venis last wrestled at ISPW’s Rock N’ Wrestling event in May 2023. There, he fell short to former
ISPW Heavyweight Champion Danny Morrison (aka ECW’s Danny Doring).
Per a press release, Venis will be joined by other ex-WWE stars at the event, including Ken Shamrock, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake, and Tony Atlas. Additional veteran names include The Powers of Pain, Dan “The Beast” Severn, and The Head Bangers.
In his case, DiBiase will serve as the special guest General Manager. The Head Bangers (Mosh and Thrasher) will challenge for the ISPW Tag Team Titles in a match also involving The Now, Sent 2 Slaughter, and The Shot Callers. WWE Evolve’s Sloane Jacobs will defend the ISPW Women’s Title against Vicious Vicki Venuto and Tiara James in a triple threat. Elsewhere, fellow Evolve star Marcus Mathers will take on his father Marc Angel. All the in-ring action will kick off at 7:30 pm local time.
