According to a source close to the situation, there appears to be growing tension and major heat between the Ring of Honor Wrestling and Dragon Gate USA promotions.
I was told that Dragon Gate USA Vice President and former Ring of Honor booker Gabe Sapolsky has become increasingly more frustrated with Ring of Honor, and tension between the two promotions seems to be at its highest right now.
The heat between the two sides began when Ring of Honor re-signed Davey Richards, who is a talent that Sapolsky had hoped would be the next big independent star in EVOLVE and Dragon Gate when Bryan Danielson left for WWE and Nigel McGuinness signed with TNA.
At the time, Davey Richards was set to make appearances with Ring of Honor, EVOLVE and Dragon Gate USA, however, just two weeks after the first EVOLVE show, Sapolsky announced that he would no longer be booking Davey Richards on his shows as he had "re-signed" with Ring of Honor.
At that point, Sapolsky felt that Richards had screwed him over as according to Sapolsky, Richards was never "exclusive" to Ring of Honor Wrestling and had verbally agreed to work future dates with Dragon Gate and EVOLVE. As a result, I was told that tension between Sapolsky and Ring of Honor owner Cary Silkin has grown significantly and Sapolsky is apparently fed up with RIng of Honor. I was told not to expect to see any mutual talent exchanges between companies any time soon.
