A Very Detailed Live Smackdown Report From Last Night

The divas match was standard fare.  Don’t really care what anyone says, Mickie James has a smoking body, with beautiful curves that put many of the rail thin divas to shame.  They teased a Beth Pheonix face turn after the post match beat down, until Pheonix dropped James.

Jericho and Mysterio was by far match of the night.  It was a small morsel of the PPV matches they had earlier this year, but it was head and shoulders above anything else on the card.  Great Codebreaker off of the Mysterio springboard.  All in all an exciting match that came down to the last second.

The Hart Dynasty vs Yang, J, and Maria was forgettable.  Though I find it hilarious that they played up the sharpshooter to Maria at the end hoping for some type of big reaction because of the impending return of Bret Hart next week.  Instead, it got absolutely nothing.

Batista vs R-Truth was a bit boring and kind of a lackluster way to end the show.  The ending was predictable, though its always funny to see a little guy runaway from a big guy.  A little side note here, when Vickie Guerrero gets on tv, I always thought the heat she would recieve was a bit padded with good dubbing.  I can now tell you that is not at all the case, she by far recieved the biggest heat of the night.  Following her babble, we get our dark main event, Batista vs Rey in a street fight.  Pretty short until Jericho interfears, which brings out Matt Hardy, which bring out CM Punk and co., which brings out… Kane???  I mean, I like Kane and all, but where the hell is Taker.  This would have been a perfect opportunity for him to comeout and clean house, but alas, why would the world champion appear at a show in the NYC market.

All in all, a fun night probably enhanced by the fact that we scored cheap ringside seats.  I’ve been to a number of PPVs and have always had decent to ok seats, but there is nothing like ringside.  I’m sure it will be nowhere near as exciting on tv, but the only real complain I have is the absence of the Undertaker.
