NWA ANARCHY SEASONâ<80><99>S BEATINGS REPORT by LARRY GOODMAN

12-20-08 NWA ARENA CORNELIA, GA

Seasonâ<80><99>s Beatings was as good as any show in Cornelia this year with the exception of Hardcore Hell. The quality of the wrestling was better than at Fright Night. Every wrestler on the show busted ass. And the stories have jelled considerably since then. For emotion and drama, you couldn’t have asked for more than the twin main events delivered. Top to bottom, it was the best of the four annual Christmas spectaculars NWA Anarchy has done.

But this has been a different type of holiday season, the result being a crowd of 150, the lowest attendance for any Anarchy major show ever. Georgiaâ<80><99>s woeful economic conditions have whittled the crowd down to the hardcores willing and able to part with $20. Try as they might, there was no way to produce the heat and electricity of a packed house. It certainly wasnâ<80><99>t the fault of the pacing â<80>” the sequence of matches peaked the crowd at all the right times and the show was done in less than 3 hours. The lone intermission was the break to set up the cage.

NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer introduced an emotional Shadow Jackson for an update on the condition of his newborn son. Jackson said the good news was his son was 100% better because of the prayers of the fans. Jackson dedicated his match to his son and the Anarchy fans, who chanted â<80><9c>we love you, Shadow.â<80>

Next up was a special â<80><9c>Seasonâ<80><99>s Beatingâ<80> video courtesy of Executive Producer Kevin Marx.

(1) Hayden Young beat Adrian Hawkins to become the number one contender for the Young Lionâ<80><99>s Title in 7 minutes. The crowd took a wait-and-see approach. None of that Pavlovian first match heat. Young came out flying. Hawkins took over after instigating a nasty bump off the top for Young. Cool lead into the double down spot with Young causing Hawkins to miss a springboard back elbow and then connecting with a springboard enzuigiri. Young got a near fall with a back cover, which always strikes me as more a of heel move. Young hit the Snap Driver, and Hawkins got a foot over the ropes. Hawkins hit is spinning Liger Bomb, but Young blocked Hawkinsâ<80><99> new finisher and got the pin with the Flying Squirrel. We were off to a solid start. They’ve made all the right moves with the booking of Young’s return.

(2) Wild Bunch (Billy Buck & Chris King) beat Technicians (Bobby Moore & Tyler Smith) in a Texas Tornado match (9:10). A really good match that was one edit away from being outstanding. Technicians showed Anderson-like psychology. Smith did a number on Buckâ<80><99>s shoulder to take him out of the match. Technicians doubled up on King. Buck finally clawed his way back and ran wild for a bit. King tried to use Buckâ<80><99>s back as a springboard, but Moore speared him midair. That spot looked killer. Wild Bunch got Technicians in a double submission. Crowd was going nuts for the tap out. Technicians somehow escaped. There was an extra near fall here that took the edge off the heat. Finish was nice. King leapfrogged another spear attempt by Moore, who then ate Buckâ<80><99>s superkick. This was a match where nobody really lost, as both teams emerged stronger than they were going in.

On the WrestleVision screen, we saw Melissa Coates fretting about Jerry Palmer missing their prematch rendevous. A person sight unseen dumped a bucket of water on her head. Coates was fuming and assumed it was Palmerâ<80><99>s doing.

(3) Brodie Chase beat NWA Anarchy owner Jerry Palmer (with Melissa Coates) in 1:35. Palmer came out asking â<80><9c>Whereâ<80><99>s Melissa?â<80> Coates came out humiliated and pissed off. They had words. Palmer pleaded innocence. Palmer was clearly disturbed as the match got underway. He didnâ<80><99>t even get a chance to remove his ring jacket off. Coates slugged Palmer. Oh yea of little faith. Chase pinned Palmer after a DDT. Coates walked off on her own. To be continued.

(4) New Wave (Steven Walters & Derrick Driver) beat Dynamic Duo (Chad Parham & Seth Delay) and Talent & Money (JT Talent & Drew Pendleton III) and Jeremy Vain & Rob Adonis in a ladder match to retain the NWA Anarchy tag titles in 17:57. A shameless spotfest â<80>” two 6 foot ladders, two 8 foot ladders, one 10 and one 12. The belts suspended from the ceiling could easily be reached with a 6 or and 8 footer, so the others were there with some other purpose in mind. An inherent problem with ladder matches are those times when it looks like somebody could get the belts if they really tried. This match had its share of them. New Wave is back to being way over. Dynamic Duo and Talent & Money have their fair share of fan support. Vain & Adonis were the only full blown heels. All eight guys were going at it. The stuff between Parham and Talent stood out. They need to put them in a singles match. The first big spot saw Talent dive from the ladder over the top rope onto five guys when he was upended trying to climb for the belts. Dynamic Duo both tried to climb and were knocked off a ladder by New Waveâ<80><99>s somewhat mistimed stereo missile dropkicks. Walters ran up a ladder, using the stacked bodies of T & M as a stepping stone, and brought Vain off the top with a monkey flip. Driver got one hand on the belts but Vain cut him off. Vain ran up a ladder to hit the VKO on Pendleton, but Talent hit the Talent Enhancement off the ladder on Vain. Adonis is big man to be doing this ladder s***, and heâ<80><99>s hurtinâ<80><99> for certain from the bumps he took here. New Wave nailed him with a double springboard ladder shot. Delay tried to climb and got hiptossed over the top of the ladder by Walters. Pendleton brought Walters off the ladder with a side effect. At ringside, they formed a scaffold by bridging an 8 foot ladder from the top of the 10 foot ladder to the rungs of the 12 foot ladder. This was completely illogical in the context of the match (there was no way to get from the scaffold to the belts), but pretty damn unique as a platform for crazy spots. Pendleton took a bump off the makeshift scaffold into the ring (the scaffold was about 2 feet higher than the top rope). Driver did a moonsault off the scaffold onto Pendleton for his half of New Waveâ<80><99>s Unskinny Bop finisher. They didnâ<80><99>t hit it clean, but given the degree of difficulty it was a victory that nobody got killed. New Wave got the belts with Adonis and Vain n*pping at their heels. As Anarchy ladder matches go, this one will be remembered more for the uniqueness of the scaffold spots than the overall quality of the match.

(5) Azrael (with The Reverend) beat Slim J to win the Young Lionâ<80><99>s Championship in 10:12. Match of the night. It had the best wrestling and the best sustained heat. They know each other well, so all the counter moves made total sense. Having had the pleasure of seeing these guys square off in this building on countless occasions, to me, this was the best of any of their encounters. In typical fashion, J opened with a punishing side headlock and started working on Azraelâ<80><99>s neck. Azrael hit a sick spinning implant neckbreaker to take over. When J tried for a moonsault, Azrael picked him out of midair with an Ace crusher. Azrael zeroed in on Jâ<80><99>s neck. Both men were injured when Azrael landed on Jâ<80><99>s leg. Azraelâ<80><99>s ribs took a beating from Jâ<80><99>s leg, and Jâ<80><99>s ankle was messed up. The gutted it out. A roundhouse kick to the temple sent Azrael down for a two count. J hit the Screwdriver on the Rocks for another near fall. Azrael dropped J on his head with a brainbuster. J hit the flying inverted DDT for a close near fall. Azrael blocked the Detox Driver and hit the Ted Bundy but J miraculously kicked out. Azrael then hit a vicious cutthroat piledriver to pin J clean in the middle. Itâ<80><99>s about time Azrael got a push as a singles wrestler. Itâ<80><99>s no problem for J to lose, as heâ<80><99>s utterly bullet proof at this point.

With the crowd still applauding J for his efforts, he was jumped by Todd Sexton. This had awesome heat with the Bleacher Bums chanting â<80><9c>Thank you, Toddâ<80>, and the rest of the crowd being completely disgusted. Sexton nailed J with a very Ortonesque running knee. The ref brigade came out to force Sexton out of the ring. J was carried to the back unconscious.

(6) The NWA Anarchy TV Title match between champion Truitt Fields and Shaun Tempers ended as a 10 minute draw. They had brutally tough act to follow. Smartly, they went in another direction. Tempers is pure babyface now. He looked like was auditioning for the Power Rangers in the blue and white gear. They traded holds until Tempers knee went out. Fields offered to call off the match. Tempers insisted he was OK. The body of the match saw Fields work over the injured knee. The Reverend came to ringside just in time for Tempersâ<80><99> comeback. Fields kicked out of the Temperpedic. Tempers blocked the Killing Fields. Tempers got a near fall with a backdrop driver just before the time limit expired.

Tempers put the belt on Fieldsâ<80><99> shoulder. He said Fields was a man of his word and it was an honor to face him again. The Reverend gagged at the sight of it.

(7) Shadow Jackson beat Iceberg (with The Reverend) and Mikal Adryan to win the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Title by pinning the Champion Iceberg at 13:13. â<80><9c>Shadowmaniaâ<80> chants abounding as usual. Why is Mikal Adryan still in Cornelia? What are TNA and WWE looking for if not a guy that stands 6-8, 265 and can wrestle? However, Iceberg was the standout performer on this night. Jackson and Adryan attacked Iceberg. Icebergâ<80><99>s frustrations mounted as he repeatedly took huge bumps trying to get back into the match. Judas and Jackson broke up each others pin attempts. When Judas hit a fallaway slam on Jackson, Iceberg pounced on Judas with an elbow drop. It was pretty much a three-way free for all from there to the finish. While Iceberg and Judas are both willing bump takers, Jacksonâ<80><99>s offense doesnâ<80><99>t look all that devastating against such huge men. Jackson gave Iceberg a basement dropkick to the scrotissimus region. Judas used a double noggin knocker, but that just woke Jackson up. He hiptossed Iceberg onto Judas, then powerslammed Iceberg. Iceberg kicked out of the one arm cover. Seeing Judas preparing to choke slam Iceberg, the Reverend jumped up onto the apron. Jackson clocked the Rev and Judas hit the choke slam on Iceberg, but Jackson jumped into the ring to break up the pin. Jackson mounted the ropes for the 10 punches of doom on Iceberg. Judas hooked Jacksonâ<80><99>s arms and sent Jackson flying across the ring with El Crucifijo As Judas covered, he was squashed by Icebergâ<80><99>s Ground Zero splash. Jackson pinned Iceberg with the 1031 and got the monster pop. As much as I despise switching a singles title in a three-way, it was probably the best way to do this one.

Postmatch: Jackson was confronted by Judas. Jackson put up his dukes. Judas put the title belt on Jacksonâ<80><99>s shoulders and slid out of the ring, leaving â<80><9c>The Peopleâ<80><99>s Championâ<80> to share the special moment with his fans.

(8) Ace Rockwell beat Kimo (with Jeff G. Bailey) in a cage match in 9:40. The match could be won by pinfall, submission or escape. I canâ<80><99>t recall another cage match in Cornelia that allowed winning via escape. The cage has usually been employed to prevent outside interference and/or keep the heel from running, neither of which applied here. In this case, the monsterâ<80><99>s manager requested the cage in order to destroy the babyface, and the babyface owner inserted the escape stipulation to level the playing field. Much to the delight of the crowd, Wes Grissom returned from a being beaten bloody by Kimo as the referee inside the cage. Rockwell attacked Kimo before he could remove his mask. He went for broke with the Aces High, but Kimo kicked out at one. Rockwell hit the Codebreaker and tried to exit through the door. The outside ref, Jacob Ashworth got bumped and Bailey slammed the cage door on Rockwellâ<80><99>s head. Ashworth was helped to the back, so Bailey had control of the cage door. Rockwell was bleeding from the forehead. Kimo unleashed his martial arts attack on Rockwell. Bailey was loving it. The crowd was chanting their hearts out for Ace. Kimo chucked Rockwell face first into the cage. Kimo destroyed Rockwell with a barrage of rapid fire blows in the corner. Bailey issued instructions to â<80><9c>The Butcher of Pyongyangâ<80> in Korean. Rockwell delivered a series of three low blows. Kimo may be indestructible but those balls arenâ<80><99>t made out of steel. Rockwell hit the Aces High. Kimo got up from it. Rockwell charged at Kimo, who boosted him overhead with Rockwell landing on the top turnbuckle. Rockwell skinned the cat to the outside of the cage. Kimo was going wild trying to get at him, but there was no way. It was a matter of Rockwell finding a way to drop to the floor without breaking his neck. Great drama. Terrific finish. It was one of the most believable escape finishes Iâ<80><99>ve seen, because Rockwellâ<80><99>s skin the cat was legitimately quick enough to evade Kimo. And Kimo was able to maintain the aura of invincibility despite losing.

NOTES: Jackson said he expects his son to be out of the hospital within a weekâ<80>¦Tank was visiting backstage. He’s taking a break from pro wrestling to enjoy home life. Episode 145

November 24, 2008

WRESTLING: (n.) â<80><99>res-ling A sport of contest in which two individuals face off in unarmed combat.

ANARCHY: (n.) an-ar-key (1) A state of lawlessness due to absence of authority. (2) A complete lack of order.

What happens when you mix the two together? NWA-Anarchy!

– Welcome to NWA Anarchy, this is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING~! Last week on NWA Anarchy TV, Ace Rockwell escaped eminent death from Kimo when Slim J pulled him to safety. In the main event, The Devilâ<80><99>s Rejects reigned supreme when Mikael Judas accidentally sprayed Shadow Jacksonâ<80><99>s face with his super duper ultra top secret green concoction mixture. This week, Chris Mayne challenges Truitt Fields for the NWA Anarchy TV Title and Slim J faces career assassination in the form of Kimo.

1. â<80><9c>The Great American Scream Machineâ<80> Brody Ray Chase & â<80><9c>Alpha Femaleâ<80> Melissa Coates defeated Bo â<80><9c>Knows Wrestlingâ<80> Newsome & Crystal Rose.

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare yourselves, this might get ugly. Well, at least the main event. John Johnson turns Nostradamus by foretelling a horrid tragedy in Slim Jâ<80><99>s future. After suffering embarrassment, Chase resorts to womanizing before tagging to Coates. After commercial, Chase lands a kneedrop to and stomps Roseâ<80><99>s head. Rose finally tires of Chaseâ<80><99>s sexual advancements and delivers a swift headbutt to the nether regions. Newsome heads in after missing the tag and cleans Coatesâ<80><99> clock with a dropkick. Newsome catapults Rose and roughs up Chase with a head scissors takedown. As the referee scorns Newsome, Coates finishes off Rose. Chase forces Coates to tag him in, nails Newsome and then promptly pins Rose. Afterwards, NWA Anarchy Owner Jerry Palmer interrupts Chase with an offer she canâ<80><99>t refuse by depositing the white trash in the nearest BFI dumpster. Chase tries to chastise Coates, but Palmer stops him and offers his services.

– Backstage, JT Talent brags about clobbering his opponent last week, but Andrew Pendleton III is concerned about this weekâ<80><99>s match-up. The Technicians gladly interrupts this broadcast to inform Talent & Money that Sex & Violence have chickened out of their 8 man tag match after what happened to the Brunettes and the Wild Bunch. Without anything to prove, the Technicians pass the opportunity to T & M. Yeah, the Technicians proclaim themselves the â<80><9c>realâ<80> Dynamic Duo. WOW~! Thatâ<80><99>s what I said.

– Chad Parham gleefully interrupts the upcoming match by announcing the Technicians are guilty of copyright infringement. Parham is upset that they must head through tag team turmoil at Fright Night because the champs are currently engaged with Jeremy Vain & Mr. Rob Adonis. The fans command Parham to shut up until he announces that Delay might take his shirt off after the match. Of course, the female faithful, teeny weenie boppers, and preteens start screaming â<80><9c>take it off.â<80> Even one girl commands Delay to â<80><9c>take it all off.â<80>

2. Talent & Money (JT â<80><9c>Pureâ<80> Talent & Andrew Pendleton III) defeated Hollywood Brunettes (â<80><9c>the Wizard of Aaaaaaaahsâ<80> Andrew Alexander & â<80><9c>2 Hot 4 TVâ<80> Kyle Matthews) via pinfall.

The Brunettes display their dominance early on by working over Talent with nice double team maneuvers including a double slingshot suplex. Meanwhile, Johnson announces that the D in D. Byers stands for dunce. Things go awry for the Brunettes via sly double team knee to the floor. T & M focus their attack on Alexanderâ<80>~s taped shoulder. Matthews receives the hot tag and he cleans house. Pendleton collapses to the feet of the Dynamic Duo. Alexander seizes the opportunity by moving the Dynamic Duo from their luxury suites after a baseball slide to Pendleton. Well, this infuriates Parham and he confronts Matthews. Never to waste a good latte, Matthews shoves Parham and his precious Starbucks beverage of choice spills in Delayâ<80><99>s eyes. Parham uses his tie to wipe Delayâ<80><99>s eyes. Meanwhile back in the ring, T & M finish off Matthews with a double team guillotine legdrop for the victory. Afterwards, the Dynamic Duo prepares to brutalize the Brunettes, but the New Wave spoils the fun by making the save. Good match and nice booking here.

3. â<80><9c>0% Body Fatâ<80> Truitt Fields pinned â<80><9c>the Eventâ<80> Chris Mayne to retain the NWA Anarchy TV Title.

PTI, but â<80><9c>the Reverendâ<80> Dan Wilson & the Devilâ<80><99>s Rejects are not here to physically assert themselves into Fieldsâ<80><99> affairs. Being the greatest announcer in NWA Anarchy/Wildside history, Wilson & Shaun Tempers will grace the announcerâ<80><99>s booth with their presence. Tempers delivers commentary with his new found southern gentlemanlike attitude. Fields finally wins the match with an Oâ<80><99>Connor roll. Mayne tries to Pearl Harbor, but Tempers stops him! Tempers stuns the audience by placing the TV strap on Fieldsâ<80><99> shoulder. ¿Que?

4. The Big Time Playaz (Scotty Matthews & Scott McKenzie) defeated the Texas Hit Men (Big Dogg & Skitzo).

This match has little heat including the lukewarm tag. This contest ends with a Samoan Drop/top rope corkscrew combination.

– Attorney/Agent Jeff. G. Bailey still canâ<80><99>t believe that wrestlers are still dumb enough to challenge Kimo. Last week, â<80><9c>the Butcher of Pyongyangâ<80> unleashed the Korean martial art of Sun Kwan Do and hit the 6 Finger Touch of Death on the â<80><9c>7 Figured Dealâ<80> Ace Rockwell. Alas, Bailey is the All Merciful One and prevented the Korean Assassin from hitting the 7 Pressure Points. Had Kimo connected with the 7 Pressure Points, Ace Rockwell would be deceased. However, Rockwellâ<80><99>s death would provide short-term joy. It would have deprived Bailey of the everlasting pleasure of watching Rockwellâ<80><99>s torment as he vomited blood down his own chest. Yes, it would a slow horrendous death. Slim J to stay out of the NWA Eliteâ<80><99>s business and must pay for eternity for doing so. Kimo is an unbeatable super soldier bred from birth and tonight, Slim J is Kimoâ<80><99>s next victim.

5. Kimo destroyed â<80><9c>the Blessed Scapegoatâ<80> Slim J, but lost due to decision DQ reversal.

Kimo no sells everything, counters everything and destroys everything Slim does. Kimo counters a Slim rana early on with a Hot Shot, swats off a missile dropkick and escapes the triangle choke with a powerbomb on the top turnbuckle. Bailey finally signals to Kimo to clothesline the sacrificial lamb straight to Hades. Kimo makes the cover for the academic victory. Afterwards, Bailey pulls off his tie, pulls Kimoâ<80><99>s mask off and prepares for a second 6 Fingers of Death blow. Instead, Kimo applies the same triangle choke Slim applied. Referee Brent Wiley immediately reverses the decision, but to no avail. Kimo places Baileyâ<80><99>s tie around Slimâ<80><99>s throat and prepares for the 7 Pressure Points of Doom. Palmer is tired of the carnage and gets down to business for business sake after Kimo tries to attack the referee. Palmer threatens both suspension and a special fine to Bailey as we go to fade.

NWA Prime Time

December 19, 2008

PTPW Arena

Columbus, GA

Bulldog Raines was the winner by disqualification over Josh Stone. This match was supposed to be a tag team but Chip Day was not able to be there, so it became a singles match but Colt Derringer was in the corner of his new under-study Josh Stone. Once again the bad guys took advantage and Referee Steve Miller disqualified Stone & Derringer for choking with the bull rope. Next week Bulldog will get his chance for revenge when both men are locked in a steel cage.

Killer Instinct was the winner over Kyle Matthews & Shaun Tempers. Matthews and Tempers were obviously not friends but tagged together for the match until Tempers refused to tag in and choked his own partner on the top rope costing them the match.

The Tag Team Title Match ended up with no winner. One of the Tag Champions, Frankie Valentine, left unexpectedly to go to another promotion earlier in the week and that left Ace Rockwell without a tag partner to defend the belts against Johnny Swinger & Zero Tolerance. The man in the Santa Claus suit volunteered to partner with Rockwell and after Rockwell had taken a severe beating he was finally able to tag Santa into the match and after bashing Swinger & Tolerance he stripped off his beard and wig and it was Chris Stevens cleaning house. It got out of hand and out of the ring and ultimately both teams were disqualified. As a result of one of the champions leaving PTPW, the tag titles were held up and a tournament will begin to crown new champions. Ace Rockwell & Chris Stevens were named #1 contenders for the title.

Tracy Taylor was the winner over Genni Right. By the way, Tracy Taylor is the wrestler of the month at georgiawrestling.tk.

Deathrow lost the NWA Prime Time heavyweight title to Iceberg, and now Iceberg holds the championship belts to NWA Anarchy and NWA Prime Time. The automatic re-match clause was invoked by Deathrow and the title will be on the line again next week with both men in a steel cage.

“Midnight Rocker” Marty Jannetty was in the house against Travis Sawyer, and though Sawyer had some good moves, Jannetty’s experience gave him a distinct advantage. The match ended with both men fighting on the floor and were both counted out. Jannetty & Sawyer agreed to continue their battle next week and both men announced that they would each have a special stipulation to announce before the match begins.

FOOTNOTES:

The Tag Team Titles have been held up and a tournament will begin to crown new champions

Sonny Siaki was noticeably not in the arena this week as he has agreed to take 3 weeks off voluntarily to consider his attitude toward PTPW.

Frankie Valentine has left NWA Prime Time for another promotion in the area and we wish him luck.

Marty Jannetty will be in action on the 26th of December. We are excited that Marty is available to wrestle in his home town.

Christmas Chaos is scheduled for December 26th and the matches have been posted, some of them in a steel cage. We will be doing a DVD taping on December 26th.

NATIONAL TITLE CONTROVERSY! HANSEN AWARDED THE TITLE!

On December 13th, 2008, NWA East fans in attendance at Christmas Chaos 2 witnessed the first ever “Christmas Chaos” match, in which all participants were active champions in NWA East, and all titles were up for grabs. The result of that match saw “First Klass” Brandon K defeat NWA National Heavyweight Champion Crusher Hansen for the title. For months, Hansen has been ducking and avoiding K ever since he was pinned and forced to tap out back in September at the NWA East 14th Anniversary Show

After K’s win, Crusher Hansen took the video evidence from Dynamite Video Entertainment and sent it to NWA President Robert Trobich. Trobich and the NWA Board of Directors reviewed the footage. Taking into consideration the fact that Brandon K used the NWA National Title belt to win, and the fact that they ruled earlier that K was not the officially sanctioned challenger to the NWA National Title, they have taken the title from Brandon K and given it back to Crusher Hansen.

However, actions speak louder than words. Thanks to K pinning Hansen twice, and making him tap out on two separate occasions, the NWA has named Brandon K a top contender for the title, ensuring him a future title shot, no matter what Crusher Hansen says!

Hansen will defend his title this weekend against NWA Anarchy’s Phil Shatter in Niles, OH, only an hour outside of NWA East’s territory.
