This week The Sun published an interview with Chris Jericho, which you can read here in its entirety. Jericho talks about working with Shawn Michaels, his recent heel turn, the end of Ric Flair’s career, his love for the wrestling industry, up and coming stars like Lance Cade, this weekend’s Night of Champions pay-per-view and more. Some highlights:

His feud with Shawn Michaels: “It was one of those things we just kind of stumbled upon. It was never planned to be such an intricate storyline, with all the ups and downs and ins and outs, but sometimes when you start working on something you realise that itâ<80><99>s really working out and itâ<80><99>s going good, you run with it. Thatâ<80><99>s what we did. I just love having a great storyline that you can sink your teeth into. This is definitely one of those.”

His recent heel turn: “Well I always enjoy being a heel. Itâ<80><99>s a lot of fun. It is a rare art form these days because thereâ<80><99>s a lot of people who donâ<80><99>t really know how to be a heel. They have a tendency to want to be a â<80>~cool heelâ<80><99>. My attitude of being a heel is that you are a coward and youâ<80><99>re a liar … Youâ<80><99>re a piece of garbage and you act like it. Youâ<80><99>re fake and youâ<80><99>re false, you take advantage of someone when they are down, you donâ<80><99>t face them face-to-face when theyâ<80><99>re up. I enjoy that and Iâ<80><99>m trying to do it in a different way than I have in the past.”

Being a part of Flair’s in-ring farewell the night after WrestleMania: “That meant a lot. There was only a select few that were invited into the ring, so it was a real honour for me. Iâ<80><99>m not going to say it surprised me because Ric and I have become real good friends over the years, but I didnâ<80><99>t realise that the powers-that-be felt that way as well. It was a truly great honour to be standing in the ring with Ric Flair, the Four Horsemen and Ricky Steamboat â<80>” one of my all-time heroes. It was a night Iâ<80><99>ll never forget.”
