WWE Draft In 2008?, Late Armageddon Notes, Hogan/Big Show

Don’t forget that we will be providing live coverage of WWE Armageddon tonight starting at 8:00 p.m. Eastern (7:00 p.m. Central) in our live coverage area.

WWE.com is reporting that additional tickets were made available for tonight’s Armageddon PPV in Pittsburgh, PA. Ticket information is up on the site.

According to a report, Memphis promoter Cory Maclin stated that Sirius Satellite Radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge was “full of it” when he stated that Maclin stiffed Paul “Big Show” Wight and others on his payoff for the Hogan vs. Wight event at the FedEx Forum in Memphis earlier this year. Bubba stated that many wrestlers including Wight didn’t get paid and Hogan got less than he was promised. Maclin’s response was that he didn’t understand why Bubba was saying these things adding that Wight got paid more than he was promised and that everyone on the show was paid. He added that Hogan, Jimmy Hart and himself were the ones who decided on the payoffs.

WWE officials had talks this past week to shake up the roster in the near future. They plan on doing another draft after WrestleMania.

Plans are in place for WWE to release DVDs on Batista, Bobby Lashley, Steve Austin, The Rock and “Mr. Perfect” Curt Hennig in 2008. They will also be releasing a Summerslam Anthology box set, which will feature every edition of the company’s annual August pay-per-view from 1988 through 2007. They will also be releasing a compilation DVD on Hell in the Cell matches. Furthermore, it is believed that matches featuring Chris Benoit will be utilized in future Anthology sets, but they won’t be marketing his name, nor using him in compilation DVDs on select WWE stars. It is believed that the Steve Austin DVD was delayed (it was originally scheduled to be released in November) because it was going to feature his mid-2001 feud with Benoit and they had to edit it out.

Wesley Smith sent this in: In the recent issue of Sports Illustrated, on the last page, writer Chris Ballard writes about Barry Bonds arraignment and about waiting for him to arrive to the court house. Here is exactly what he said: “And there he is! Suit draped more than worn, he looks reassuringly big and scowly, like some caricatured WWE villain entering the ring. Ladies and gentlemen…Triple HGH!” Again, “he” is being referred to Barry Bonds.

Omega passed on a link to a story by Gamespot.com about a judge dismissing the suit between THQ and WWE. For more, go to www.gamespot.com/news/6184056.html.

WWE is listed at #3 on the Yahoo! top searches for today. Thanks to Arvin and Joseph Attard for sending word.
