15 Man Reverse Battle Royal Confirmed, Sting/Angle

TNA announced on their website last week that for a $250 entrance fee, you can have a tryout before company officials. Also, you don’t have to have wrestling experience to tryout. However, it seems like the page has since been removed for whatever reason as there is no link to it in the news section of the site.

There will be a 15 Man Reverse Battle Royal at Bound For Glory next month. The final four wrestlers in the ring will then do a four-way match with the winner getting a TNA title shot. Wrestlers scheduled to appear in the match include Chris Harris, James Storm, Black Reign, Sonjay Dutt, Robert Roode, Kaz, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Petey Williams, BG James, and Kip James.

A columnist on TNA’s official website wrote a column talking about the upcoming Sting vs. Kurt Angle title match at next month’s pay-per-view. The columnist noted that a “big match situation” between the two wrestlers has never happened before: “Without question, the two greatest wrestling superstars to NEVER face off in a big match situation are Kurt Angle and Sting. This collision will finally happen on live on pay-per-view on Sunday night, October 14th at “Bound For Glory” in Atlanta, GA, and Angle’s coveted TNA World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line. The match is intriguing on so many levels, and there are so many factors to consider as we all anticipate this monumental happening.” A Sting vs. Kurt Angle match, for the Number One contender spot at the next PPV, actually took place on the April 26, 2007 edition of Impact. TNA even put out a press release for it. The match ended in a no contest. UPDATE: This has since been corrected.
