Back from commercial, Brooke Hogan is in the back with both Velvet Sky and Mickie James. She says that she's given Velvet a big opportunity with the Montgomery Gentry music video, and she knows Velvet "has the chops for the match", but ends up giving it to Micke James anyway.

Tessmacher takes the advantage with a hammer lock, but the crowd isn't interested. Mickie eventually breaks free and turns it into a wrist lock, but can't keep the hold. Tessmacher has her opponent in the ropes, but Mickie takes a cheap shot and shows signs of a possible heel turn, going on the hunt once again. Mickie is definitely playing the "heel role" in this match, as the Champion sells throughout, trying to work her way back to her feet with the help of the crowd, which is slowly getting behind her. The Champion eventually counters and hits several clotheslines, whipping Mickie into the corner. Tessmacher hits a faceplant off the second rope, but only gets a two-count. Mickie counters with a sudden Chick Kick, but Tessmacher rolls it up for a 3-count to retain.
Winner: Miss Tessmacher
Rob Van Dam and Jeff Hardy are shown on their way to the ring for tonight's main event, as we go to commerical.

These two long-time friends and rivals go back-and-forth early on. Typical punch, punch, headlock exchange. RVD gains the advantage and lands a single leg kick off the top rope as the crowd starts a dueling Hardy/RVD chant. After some typical RVD offense, Jeff Hardy dodges a picture-perfect 450 splash, followed by a huge DDT and sick looking Twist of Fate for the quick victory! Hardy checks on RVD after the match.
