Michael Cole Sits Down w/ WWE Legends to Discuss Sting vs. Triple H (Video)

WWE legends Michael Hayes and Arn Anderson join Michael Cole for the weekly sit-down interview on WWE.com to address the rivalry between Triple H and Sting, and their upcoming match at WrestleMania 31.

stingAnderson: “I think Sting signed the very first contract with WCW when it was purchased. And I would dare say he was probably on contract well after he went out of business; a couple years into WWE buying the company. That’s how they looked at Sting – he was a very valuable commodity.”

Cole: “He never left. He was the first to sign and the last to leave. A parallel could be drawn with Triple H, who he meets at WrestleMania. Triple H never left – all his friends left, most of them, but he stuck through it here in the Monday Night War. And there’s something to be said for that.”

Hayes: “WCW back in the day was kind of a ‘good ole’ boys network’. If you weren’t in with a certain crowd, then you may not get the best opportunities to break through the glass ceiling. Sting did that when he went 45-minutes with the ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair.” … “This is a match we never thought we would see, and we’re never going to see again. In some form or fashion it does represent the last battalions of the WCW/WWE Monday Night War.”

This interview is really good, and exactly what I’ve been saying WWE needs more of to promote Sting to a new audience. It promotes the match as something you “need to see” as a wrestling fan, which is a factor I still think is missing.
