Fight Owens Fight
Kevin Owens talks about how when he says he is going to do something, he delivers. He talks about winning the NXT Championship, taking out Sami Zayn and beating John Cena. He says he called home and said his wife was so proud of him and then he said he spoke to his son and said that he was a John Cena fan. His son said he “daddy, how is John Cena?” Kevin says he gets it and knows his son has been watching it for years. He says it is blind worship and says Cena has been portrayed as a super hero over the past decade. He talks about honing his craft and says “SuperCena.” Owens says he beat him last night and says he will beat him again at WWE Money in the Bank.
Owens says he is the real role model, not worrying about colors and catch phrases. Out comes John Cena, who tells him to shut up and act like he has been there before. He says everyone is talking about Kevin Owens. John Cena says he does not deserve the NXT Championship and calls him a great wrestler. He says he is not a real man. He talks about how people feel and how sometimes you cannot change that. He points to a child in the crowd who has a sign saying that “I’m beating Cancer.” Kevin Owens walks away from the fight.
What an incredible segment from two polarizing figures. THAT is why John Cena will never be a heel. He points to a child beating Cancer. You have to admit, this was a great moment that came naturally. Kevin Owens is so believable on the mic, while John Cena knows what to say and how to say it. He knows how to be funny and knows when to take a serious tone. This made the feud SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING.
Dolph Ziggler vs. Kofi Kingston/ PTP and Ziggler vs. New Day
Dolph Ziggler hits a dropkick and then a splash into the corner. Kofi hits a kick and then locks in a submission hold. Ziggler connects with a neck breaker and then a few big elbow drops. Dolph rolls up Kofi with the tights and picks up the win. The New Day attack and Dolph gets saved by Prime Time Players. They save Ziggler.
This turns into a 6 man tag team match. Kofi explodes and all men target Darren Young. They isolate him for a while. Young counters with knees to Big E. Titus dominates everyone and the crowd is behind him. He clear sthe ring and then hits a powerslam onto Woods. Young hits a neckbreaker and Woods tries to steal the win. Titus hits a big boot and Ziggler connects with a superkick. Titus hits a Pump Handle Slam for the win.
Very simple and logical booking right here. WWE goes with PTP as the next opponents for New Day. They save Dolph Ziggler and get a nice rub off of a guy who the crowd loves. WWE gets it here. You mesh two storylines into one and have the guys that need exposure get the upper hand. Titus looked GREAT. Explosive and knew what to do to get the crowd behind him immediately.
