John Cena & Alberto Del Rio In-Ring Segment:
Cena welcomes everyone to the show and hypes the Diva’s Title match as well as the IC Title match. Cena says that the one thing missing is the US Champion. He doesn’t like Del Rio, but it’s a new year, a new network and he will try a fresh start. Cena then announces Del Rio in Ricardo Rodriguez fashion, and here comes Del Rio. Del Rio told Cena to save his speeches for later, he knows what Cena wants, but it won’t work. Just like any other gringo, Cena is trying to get a title opportunity that he doesn’t deserve.
However Del Rio gives him credit, it worked once, but it won’t work tonight. Cena says the people are fired up to see Del Rio tonight, and they want to see a US Title match tonight. Del Rio runs down Cena and says for Cena to shut up. There is no way he will defend his title tonight, but he will give them something. Del Rio says that he will fight anyone right here tonight, right now, just not Cena. Cena says if he is out of the picture then give someone an opportunity. Cena has a guy that he thinks can shock the world, and introduces Kalisto. Kalisto makes his way to the ring and Cena helps lead the Lucha chants. Del Rio asks if Cena is out of his mind and must be kidding. Del Rio asks Kalisto if he thinks he can win, and Kalisto takes the mic and says he will beat him right now. Del Rio shoves Kalisto down to the mat. Kalisto gives Del Rio a hurricanrana that sends him to the outside.
First Match: Kalisto w/John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio
Del Rio with right hands to Kalisto in the corner. Del Rio kicks Kalisto in the ribs. Kalisto fires up and gives Del Rio a roundhouse kick. Kalisto goes for the Salida Del Sol, but Del Rio rolls out of the ring. Coming out of the commercial break. Del Rio connects with a running dropkick to the back of Kalisto back for a two count. Del Rio with a suplex for one count. Del Rio sends Kalisto to the second rope. Kalisto hangs on the second rope, but Del Rio connects with a running boot from the outside.
Del Rio comes back and clotheslines Kalisto. Del Rio stomps on Kalisto back. Del Rio puts Kalisto on the top rope and Del Rio kicks Kalisto in the ribs. Kalisto with a springboard corkscrew to Del Rio. Kalisto goes for a hurricanrana, but Del Rio counters with a power bomb for a two count. Del Rio with right hands to the back of the head of Kalisto. Del Rio with a DDT that sends Kalisto to the outside. Del Rio does the “You Can’t See Me” Hand Pose to Cena. Cena takes his shirt off. Del Rio rolls Kalisto back into the ring. Del Rio sets up for the Cross Arm Breaker. Kalisto reverse the Cross Arm Breaker with a hurricanrana and he picks up the victory.
Winner: Kalisto
