Rey Mysterio

Deadline.com is reporting Rey Mysterio has signed a new one-year ‘first look’ deal with El Rey Network that will see Mysterio develop and produce scripted and unscripted series.

Mysterio joined El Rey’s Lucha Underground in its second season, and will appear in the third, which was being filmed earlier this year and will premiere in September. El Rey Network President and G.M. Daniel Tibbets commented on the deal, saying the following about Mysterio:

“He is creative and collaborative and has a keen eye for great entertainment. Rey embodies the El Rey Network brand and we are thrilled to expand our relationship with him.”

Brock Lesnar

WWE has issued the following statement, noting Stephanie McMahon has decided to fine Brock Lesnar $500 for his actions after facing Randy Orton at WWE Summerslam:

Brock Lesnar’s brutal SummerSlam main event assault on Randy Orton has cost The Beast Incarnate $500.

Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon confirmed on Monday night that Lesnar would face repercussions for his vicious actions against The Viper at The Biggest Event of the Summer. The WWE Universe learned on Tuesday’s SmackDown Live Pre-Show that the $500 fine was set by Stephanie.

Is the fee enough to satiate SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon’s peace of mind for the heinous act inflected upon one of his show’s top Superstars? Is this seemingly paltry sum an insult to Shane and SmackDown Live? How will Lesnar’s fine impact the already strained relations between Team Red and Team Blue?

WWE RAW Rating

This week’s final WWE RAW rating was a 2.34 rating, which is up from last week’s 2.12 rating. This week’s RAW, featuring Bayley’s debut and Finn Balor relinquishing the WWE Universal Championship in addition to WWE Summerslam fallout, was the second week in a row that the final rating went up, as the August 8th episode was a 2.05 rating.
