Chris Jericho joined Busted Open with Dave Lagreca and Larry Dallas yesterday and gave some interesting information on his recent run with the WWE. Both clips can be heard below.

Chris Jericho says that he was originally supposed to win the Universal Title at WM 33 and then drop it to Brock Lesnar at Payback, says he pitched a match at WM 33 against Shinsuke Nakamura, and also commented on his relationship with Kevin Owens.

“Well, it wasn’t supposed to be that way. I was supposed to finish up after WrestleMania, that Monday afterwards, and around December maybe, Vince called me in and he had a big idea. I can probably say this now; the original idea, as things change all of the time, exclusive for Busted Open, was for me and Kevin Owens to work at Wrestlemania and for me to win the title, and then to lose it to Brock in Sacramento at the next pay-per-view, which was April 30th. And so when you get presented with that idea it’s like ‘well sure, of course I’ll stay for that.’ Then as things go, the Goldberg factor started and Vince changed his mind, and then at that point, I was already locked in for the extra month, doing an extra month with Kevin Owens, which was the way to do it anyways.

Chris Jericho also gives his thoughts on the Cruiserweight division, says there’s not much difference between their stars and the other main roster stars, offers ways to fix the division including adding Enzo Amore to the division to feud with Neville. Also comments on working with the newer talent on this last run like Dean Ambrose.

Busted Open can be heard weekdays from 2p-4p ET only on SiriusXM Rush Channel 93 and any time on the SiriusXM app.
