Natalya Talks Money in the Bank Match, The Mae Young Classic, A Possible Total Divas Spin-Off & More

WWE superstar Natalya recently spoke with TV Insider in the lead up to tonight’s Money in the Bank pay per view. The Queen of Harts has been on a solid run over on SmackDown Live as the leader of The Welcoming Committee, and she’s one of the dark horses heading into the women’s MITB ladder match.

On the reaction to women’s MITB match being announced:

“I got texts from Nikki Bella, Sasha Banks. I got messages from Beth Phoenix, Eve Torres, Kaitlyn. So many who were also from the past in WWE,” she recalls. “Then women from the independents reached out to me like Shayna Baszler, Mia Yim, Nikki Matthews, Sumie Sakai. So many different women were like, ‘Wow, this is amazing!’ It’s incredible. It’s a testament to how far we’ve come and are going to go.”

On this summer’s Mae Young Classic:

“We were talking about it to Triple H the other day, and I really want to go to it,” she says. “It’s also funny to note is that my grandfather was very close to Mae Young. I had a really strong relationship with Mae Young, too. My whole childhood growing up my grandfather would say that Mae Young may be the toughest lady wrestler he ever knew. He would always call her Johnnie Mae. Johnnie Mae was a shooter and would go at it with the guys. She was the real deal and one of the best.”

On having her own Total Divas spin-off:

“I don’t know who wouldn’t want to watch my dad, the Anvil, up close and personal,” she says. “The Bella Twins have such a unique dynamic. They are almost like a little dynasty with Nikki with John [Cena] and Brie with Daniel [Bryan]. Then you have John Laurinaitis in there. So they definitely have the dynamic to pull off a Total Bellas.

“But if I was presented the opportunity to do a spinoff with the Hart family, you know I’m going to bring it,” she continues. “Our family is so crazy…I learned my parents are slightly into hoarding things…I think we can pull off our own reality show.”
