MR: I loved watching WCW. The fact I am talking to Eric Bischoff right now or that I’ve gotten to call a match with Tony Schivone two weeks ago… the fact I am doing any of this boggles my f*cking mind. I want to enjoy the fact I am in professional wrestling. I don’t want to hate it.

EB: All I can say to you in terms of advice is: Never lost that. Never lose that. To this day when people ask me, “What’s the greatest memory you have? What stands out the most?” It’s actually the first day I worked for Verne Gagne in the AWA. I sat in the chair and I thought, “Oh my God, I’m making six hundred dollars a week,” which at the time was a lot of money for me, “I’m making six hundred dollars a week in the PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING BUSINESS?!” I lived off that high for two years. Then I realized after having two kids that six hundred dollars a week wasn’t that much money. It didn’t tho because I was still living off that high. Same thing happened when I got to WCW. Once you lose that passion, or that element of passion, the rest becomes work and the product will suffer. Hang on to that for as long as you can and the rest will take care of itself.
