Dolph Ziggler Responds To Fan Comment On Why He ‘Ignored’ Feud w/ Bobby Roode During Smackdown Invasion Of RAW Last Night

Dolph Ziggler offered an explanation for why he appeared on RAW last night, seemingly ignoring his current feud with Bobby Roode over on Smackdown.

The thread started when a fan posted a screencap of all of the Smackdown stars and criticized Ziggler (and Roode) ignoring kayfabe, and Ziggler replied with:

PWTorch.com’s Wade Keller, who was also tagged in the photo, replied to Ziggler’s comment about Undertaker and said Ziggler and Roode still should have hated each other on TV, because the ‘undead wrestler’ still shoots lightning and keeps up character when he’s on TV. Ziggler and Keller’s following comments are below:

DZ: Smackdown was a unit sending a message. Somehow every week we all wait until we’re in the ring, the music hits and bell rings to fight. Why wouldn’t this apply here? I didn’t high five or even talk to my sd opponent, nor have I been seeking him out backstage to jump him

WK: Honest question. What was msg about? What is YOUR character’s motivation to cooperate w/GM you’ve been complaining about disrespecting u?

DZ: I have nothing against shane. I called out the fans for liking wrestlers that are smoke & mirrors. So, it was fun to bust up a show built on masks, fire, smoke & facepaint & chest protectors. Sorry that YOU didn’t see that.

Keller went into more detail on the ‘Under Siege’ mentality and why brand warfare doesn’t necessary work in a new editorial, which can be read here.

There were several notable interactions (or lack of) during last night’s invasion segment, including current feuds fighting on the same side. Chad Gable went right after Jason Jordan in the locker room, Zack Ryder attacked Curt Hawkins, and so on. Do you think WWE should try and keep up kayfabe with current face / heel alignments, or is Survivor Series the time where you give them a pass? Let us know in the comments section below:
