Will Ospreay Claims He Turned Down WWE For NJPW
New Japan Pro Wrestling IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay was the guest on a recent episode of Talk Is Jericho and confirmed that he had received a call from WWE about a contract with them.
Ospreay had the following to say in regards to why he chose to stay with NJPW instead of jump to WWE (transcription courtesy of Fightful.com’s Pat Fannin):
WO: As a kid you would always want your Wrestlemania… It’s always been in the back of my mind. But as I come here (NJPW) and grown up more, I don’t do very well traveling as it is. Those guys (in WWE) are wrestling on Christmas day and New Years. That would have killed me. Christmas for me is family. I love being with my family.
