Rumor Killer On WWE Bringing Back War Games In 2018

Yesterday a post on the AXS website seemed to confirm WWE would bring back the War Games match for the NXT Takeover that will take place on Survivor Series weekend, but now it appears to be a mistake.

The post, which has since been redacted, talked about the ‘second WWE War Games match’ and how host city Los Angeles would bear witness to the ‘return’ of War Games.

Josh Nason of F4WOnline.com is reporting WWE sources have called the AXS post and error, and the match is not confirmed to return now.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see War Games return somewhere down the line, but it appears this is just a rumor for now. For what it’s worth, I’d rather see a match deserve the stipulation, instead of War Games becoming somewhat watered down as a yearly event ‘just because’ it’s scheduled.
