Hulk Hogan posted on Twitter that today would be the anniversary of him defeating Nick Bockwinkel for the AWA Championship in 1982. Hogan remarks that he doesn’t think “there would have been WrestleMania” if it wasn’t for AWA owner Verne Gagne taking the title back and wanting money from Hogan’s New Japan tenure around that time.

The Hulkster always has an agenda, brother, so it’s interesting to see how he spins this anniversary tweet. He mentions his AWA stardom, but makes more of an effort to reference the historical importance of his presence in WWE.
