New Japan Road To Wrestling Dontaku (4/27) Goto/Robinson in Huge NEVER Title Match

FIFTH MATCH: Los Ingobernables de Japon (Tetsuya Naito, BUSHI, SANADA, EVIL & Hiromu Takahashi) vs. Suzuki-gun (Davey Boy Smith Jr., Lance Archer, El Desperado, Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Minoru Suzuki)

An absolute war. Suzuki-gun assaulted LIJ to start. This found Hiromu dominated by every member of Suzuki-gun. Once Archer and Smith start throwing him around like a ragdoll, the match gets pretty heartbreaking.

Naito eventually tags in, but Minoru Suzuki has a counter for seemingly all of Naito’s moves, and they all end in very painful submission holds. Suzuki stretched Hiromu at one point, drawing the ire of Naito. After Naito tagged out, Suzuki even tagged out to beat on Naito some more.

Archer and Smith also got plenty of offense in on EVIL and SANADA, softening up the tag champs before Wrestling Hi No Kuni.

Towards the end, Yoshinobu Kanemaru found himself isolated against LIJ. Naito hit a springboard DDT. Naito then hit an Enziguri and Destino to get the pinfall.

WINNERS: Los Ingobernables de Japon.

SIXTH MATCH: NEVER Openweight Champion Hirooki Goto vs. Juice Robinson

The match started as any would expect. Goto utterly savaged Robinson. Eventually brawling to the outside, Robinson seemed severely outmatched.

Back in the ring, Juice seemed to fire back. He hit pulp friction and seemed to have a response for everyone of Goto’s moves. Juice kicked out of Ushiguroshi, and even Shouten. Juice fought back with a reverse Ushiguroshi, as well as a Brainbuster. Juice reversed GTR with a small package, but nothing could keep Goto down. Goto finally dropped Juice with GTR for the pinfall.

WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION: Hirooki Goto.

After the match, Michael Elgin and Taichi challenged Goto.

MAIN EVENT: Hiroshi Tanahashi & KUSHIDA vs. CHAOS (Kazuchika Okada & Will Ospreay)

KUSHIDA and Ospreay started the match at a wild pace. KUSHIDA continues to have a very grounded response to the aerialist, taking him out of his comfort zone. Once Tanahashi and Okada tag in, the match kicks into a new gear.

Okada continues his taunting ways. He brutalizes the Ace Of New Japan, coming very close to submitting him via Cobra Clutch. KUSHIDA however put up a wild fight against the IWGP Heavyweight Champion. Targeting Okada’s arm, KUSHIDA worked to neutralize much of Okada’s offense. This made it possible for Tanahashi to reverse Okada’s Tombstone attempt on the floor.

Ospreay and Tanahashi wrestled the closing stretch of this match. Ospreay got hit with Sling Blade. KUSHIDA kept Ospreay grounded with a Hoverboard Lock. Tanahashi hits High Fly Flow and gets the pinfall over Ospreay.

WINNERS: Hiroshi Tanahashi & KUSHIDA.
