ROH TV Ep 346 Recap: C2C v. Milonas & Bruiser, Ferrara v. Gresham, Shane Taylor Gets Paid, The Kingdom v. Dalton & Boys

The Young Bucks cut a promo plugging next week’s tag title match against the Briscoe Brothers.

The Dawgs are coming out. Rhett Titus says he’s suffering from a bad hangover but Will Ferrera is gonna turn “Octopus” Gresham into calamari.

MATCH 2: Willy Ferrera vs. Jonathan Gresham

The Code of Honor is adhered and the two tie up as Titus jumps on commentary. The two begin shoving each other back and forth as the two snapmare each other down and we get back to a stare down. It continues slow placed and methodic as Willy has him in an arm lock that Gresham eventually flips out of. Very impressive technical sequence. Willy stomps Gresham in the corner and arm wrings Gresham hard into the mat as we cut to commercial break.

Back from break and Ferrara has been working the arm. Gresham charges and then begins working Willy’s arm as “Wildfire” Tommy Rich gets a shout-out. Gresham tries putting in Willy in an octopus stretch, but can’t fully lock it him. Gresham downs Willy but Ferrara eventually traps Gresham into a ground cobra-clutch crossface. Gresham gets to the ropes for the break as the two get to their feet. They begin slugging it out as Gresham hits an enziguri and lays a crisp snap German suplex for a two count. Ferrara goes for a roll-up which Gresham reverses, stomps on Willy’s arm and bridges him into a roll over for the pin & win.

Winner: Jonathan Gresham via pinfall after 8:00

After the match The Dawgs gang up on Gresham, but The Motor City Machine Guns run in for the save.

Awesome display of technical wrestling in this match. Willy was able to show off his in-ring chops and Gresham came off as a credible force who could own the ring with his mat skills and body language.

Cody & Marty Scurll. Cody talks about Best In The World and says Dalton Castle will face the number one contender, the guy who is killing it, and Scurll agrees with him because Castle will be facing The Villain. This stops Cody as he turns Marty aside to say it’s Rhodes. He turns to the camera to say Bullet Club is fine, but Marty still says Dalton will get beaten by The Villain.

We cut to see SoCal Uncensored. They call out The Kingdom and say they are going to end them as they see fit.

MATCH 3: Shane Taylor vs. Ryan Nova

We see Shane Taylor in the ring. He says to Pittsburgh that he’s back. For eight years ran the streets of the Steel City and getting paid to beat people down, but now the difference is he’s been doing it for the Bullet Club and The Kingdom. He then points to Ryan Nova and says that the money ROH is paying him should be going in Shane Taylor’s pocket. As the old saying goes “more money, your problem.” We quickly cut to a video of Ryan Nova pre-match. He says Taylor better prepare himself, because he will be scorched by ROH’s one true supernova.

We immediately cut back in a sense of irony to see Taylor deliver a boot to the face and then smacks him with two chokeslams before hitting him with a Greetings From Asbury Park. Ref stops the match.

Winner: Shane Taylor via referee stoppage at 0:30

I love the Shane Taylor gimmick. I like the single man APA idea – just a hand for hire and we get more of that later.

Video plugs for War Of The Worlds tour.
