NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa sat down with an interview for WWE.com with Byron Saxton. During the interview, Ciampa revealed why he thought he was the perfect role model for today’s kids. Ciampa said that in the era of participation trophies, he set himself apart as the NXT Champion before adding that anyone who was happy with their kids winning participation trophies had failed as a parent. He added that to parents who wanted their kids to be winners, they should look no further than himself for inspiration.
Ciampa also spoke about the state of NXT with him as champion, claiming that NXT was not the A-Show. He added that when his mission was complete, kids would be dreaming of having a “TakeOver moment” instead of a WrestleMania moment.
