Hardy and Magnus Win To Face in The Finals

Jeff Hardy defeated Bobby Roode to kick off the show. This was a Tables Match that really focused on that stipulation. I did not love the idea that, after every move, each guy would try and put the other through a table. I wanted to see more physicality between each move and more overall action. It stalled a few times because of how the stipulation was. Both men crash through a table, which really did a swell job of creating intrigue and drama coming back from the commercial break. The action continued and Hardy would finally best Roode. Great decision. Roode has unfinished business with Kurt Angle and Hardy is the most popular guy in the company. You need to treat Hardy like Cena. He needs to be that "veteran" and guy that gets a crowd reaction no matter what.

Grade: B

Magnus defeated Kurt Angle to end the night. This was a great bout that needed to be emphasized on how Magnus could beat Angle. It was a Last Man Standing match. This is very easy to explain. Angle hits a German Suplex and Magnus gets up after a seven count. Magnus hits a great inverted suplex and Angle struggles to get it. Repeat the process until we get to the very end when Roode decides to come out. Bobby Roode, with the referee out, hits a fireman's carry neckbreaker and he cannot get up to the count of ten. Magnus is the winner and heads to the finals.

Yes, Magnus needs to be in the finals. He should've won on his own so that we are made to believe that he belongs there. No fluke, just talent. I felt like TNA missed a huge opportunity for him to pick up a victory (on his own) against a legend like Kurt Angle. Nonetheless, he needs to become champion. He has so much more to lose if he loses to Hardy. It will be another opportunity that is greatly missed.
