My latest column for Upgruv.com looks at the historic implications of Sasha Banks vs Charlotte and how Vince McMahon has dropped the ball on full promoting it. Here’s a sample:

WWE history is upon us. For the first time ever, women will compete inside Hell in a Cell.

Professional wrestling is pre-determined, but you can’t say the same for the pain. It can be anticipated, but never fully understood until endured. Hell in a Cell matches embody this.

Sure, the dangers of the Cell are exaggerated to an extent to sell pay-per-views. But there is a baseline of reality which is to be in this match and deliver to the level fans expect — people are going to get hurt.

Think about the match in the most primitive explanation. A wrestling ring surrounded by four sides and a roof of metal fencing. Walk outside to your backyard and run up against your fence a few times. After that, have your neighbor start throwing you into it. Then imagine you walk up to your deck, 20 feet in the air, and one of you gets tossed off the deck. Minus the theatrics, that’s what Hell in a Cell gets boiled down to.

No “this stuff is fake” or “those guys really know how to fall” critiques. It’s professional wrestling at its most dramatic and violent.

All that being said, think about what we’re about to witness. Two ladies for the first time ever in a playground of pain boldly shown at a level beyond the normal in WWE women’s wrestling. An increased likelihood for blood on the faces of WWE’s prettiest.

All the respect in the world to the women about to take part in this match. I’m not talking down to them, doubting them or being sexist. We’ve seen men enter these matches and come out with scars that never leave them. We’ve never seen two ladies enter this match and that is a story. That is an attraction. What we know about Hell in a Cell yet, is about to change.

And while yet is changing, Vince McMahon has dropped the ball in capitalizing on this risk and change.

Sasha Banks vs Charlotte are already about to make history and WWE isn’t shouting off highest mountain top. Reality is, Mick Foley had this right weeks ago and the company botched the entire thing.

This match should be the centerpiece to this event on Sunday. This match should be touted as the main event. Not one match of a triple main event.
