Lyra Valkyria has reflected on her successful title defense on Raw and wonders what’s next for the Intercontinental Champion.
The Irish wrestler defended her Women’s Intercontinental Championship on Raw this week. Despite interference from Liv Morgan, she managed to beat Raquel Rodriguez to keep her title reign alive.
The match saw Bayley run in at the end, as she and Lyra Valkyria stood tall in a hint towards their WrestleMania plans.
Speaking on WWE’s Twitter account following Raw, Lyra Valkyria spoke about her title defense. She complimented the Scottish crowd and talked about how satisfying it was to kick Liv Morgan in the face.
“What an electric atmosphere, what a crowd. The Irish and Scottish fans made it feel almost like home. Outside, the sky was dull and grey, but inside, the energy and the people, oh my god—unmatched. I could go out in front of that crowd again and again. No matter how many times I get hit, I love it out there,” Lyra Valkyria said.
“I should’ve listened to Bayley more, I definitely underestimated Raquel. Maybe because she finally got some glasses that fit her. Who knows? But that crowd, that defense, it was unforgettable. Oh, kicking Liv Morgan in the face? Always satisfying. She had it coming. Another one done. UK tour, successful defense. Lyra Valkyria, witness the rise. Who knows what’s next?”

Lyra Valkyria Names Her Dream Match For WrestleMania 41
In a recent interview with Pubity, Lyra Valkyria was asked who she would love to face at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas.
The Women’s Intercontinental Champion revealed that Asuka would be the wrestler she’d love to face at WrestleMania. She added that she was supposed to wrestle her at Backlash France last year. However, injury saw Asuka replaced by Dakota Kai in that bout.
“A match that got away from me would be to face Asuka.” Lyra Valkyria said. “That would be pretty massive. When I was first debuting on Monday Night Raw, I’ll never forget watching Backlash in France and that’s when I discovered what my debut match would be, which was supposed to be Asuka.”
“Unfortunately she got hurt and I ended up wrestling Dakota Kai, which ended up being quite poetic in itself as we circled back to me and Dakota in a big history-making moment. But yeah. That would definitely be a nice match to circle back to, to get to wrestle Asuka.” Lyra Valkyria added.
