WWE has reportedly signed a former Divas Champion to a Legends deal.
Under the creative direction of Triple H, the company has been making an effort to sign more former talents to Legends (Nostalgia) deals. Now a new report suggests a former WWE Divas Champion has been added to that list.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), WWE has signed Barbie Blank (also known as Kelly Kelly) to a Legends deal.
Before retiring from full-time competition in 2012, Kelly Kelly captured the WWE Divas Championship in 2011 from Brie Bella. She dropped the title four months later to Beth Phoenix. Eight years later, Kelly pinned Gerald Briscoe to capture the 24/7 Championship. She was the first woman to hold this title.
Kelly Kelly last competed for WWE as a surprise entrant in the 2022 Women’s Royal Rumble.
How did Kelly Kelly get her name?
During a recent interview with Byron Scott’s Fastbreak, Barbie Blank revealed how Vince McMahon came up with the Kelly Kelly name.
